Right now the city charter requires the sfpd to have a minimum of 1971 officers. A proposed amendment from the supervisor ye would abolish the minimum and let the supervisor decide based on the biannual assessment. The police union chief calls it defunding the police. This defunding, whatever you want to call it. Its on the lips of everybody right now. Its not a step in the right direction. Fire that ultimately its going to lower the ranks of the Police Officers we have. The hope is this too will actually help us make our Community Even safer. I mean. If we if they tell us the dictate that we need more officers, personally i would support. The rules committee will vote on the issue thursday. It was put forth in honor of joel acevedo who days at the hands of an offduty Milwaukee Police officer in april. The department stopped training officers to use choke holds back in the 1990s. The socalled healthy building ordinance requires hotels and Large Office Buildings to sanitize multiple times a day to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Supporters say its the only way to reopen hotels and offices safely and protect workers but hotel groups argue the measure adds a steep cost to businesses already struggling. In a statement the Hotel Council of San Francisco says the ordinance imposes a significant financial burden to implement puts our employees Greater Health risks by demanding they enter rooms more frequently and further delay our ability to reopen for tourism. Well, as the city of boston gets ready to reopen which was once the hub of bostons covid19 outbreak, has opened again. The citys aquarium plans to open its doors next week along with encore casino and though the tourism hot spots look to be lukewarm, bostons mayor says the citys slow reopening was worth it. Things improving just a bit and once you are past the brake lights speeds get better past the accident. But in the meantime, they are running a traffic break to clear everything over to the shoulder. At one point all lane worse blocked and they did open the two left lanes and right now everything is going off to the right side so hopefully things will improve along 580. In the meantime if you are headed out the door you can always use 880 as the alternate route. Eastshore freeway, 80 westbound right at 780 we had report of a trouble spot blocking the connector road. Looks like one car crash there. No injuries reported. Checking the drive times 32 minutes for the Altamont Pass commute 205 to 680. And even with that accident along 80. Still no major delays through the eastshore wa hiy to the maze. Only about a 14 minute ride. Westbound 4 clear as well as 101. Taking a look at traffic at the bay bridge. So far so good. We dont typically see any brake lights really starting to build until after the 6 00 hour there. So in that 6 00 hour you might see slower speeds but right now, things are moving at the limit at the bay bridge with no delays. That road work on the lower deck of the bay bridge has been cleared out of the lanes. And the san mateo bridge you have got extra volume with drive times now 16 minutes between 880 over to 101. Not as breezy as yesterday morning looking at 7mileper hour winds in concord and sfo and 3 in hayward and for san jose. As we head through the afternoon see westerly winds 10 to 20 along the coast and around the bay. In the mid 60s along the coast the afternoon. And upper 60s to low to mid70s around the bay and heating up inland into the mid to upper 80s to low 90s with that sunshine inland. So a bit warmer for today with that afternoon breeze and along the coast and right around the bay. And as we look to the rest of the week, were going to heat up especially inland but all of us will see those temperatures warming up a little bit more as we go through the next several days.
