A grass fire that started burning at about 4 am started out pretty small and it blew up. This was near old port street. It is on the west side of 880, just north of the oakland arena. Firefighters pretty much have it out but we have been seeing plumes of smoke just in isolated areas. Theyre going to have to stay out there to keep an eye on the hotspots that could keep coming up. Also, they are shutting down old port between 66th and hyde street to make sure they can keep some of that equipment on scene. We will keep our eye on it. People in santa clara send themselves to get tested for coronavirus. They opened six new testing locations. Long lines could be seen at some of those sites. They have been scrambling to fix the problem with its website, preventing some for making appointments at several locations. Are there going to be some problems and glitches . Yes, but we are working every day and a lot of people are working to try to get all of that ironed out so we do not have barriers and problems because if we tell you you should get tested, it should be easy to do that. It is definitely busy and we are seeing brake lights around 80 southbound and a road closure is in effect off of 880 on oak forest street and we have been following that. It is due to an earlier fire and it looks like the fire is out but closures are still in effect between 66th avenue and hyde street. You can use coliseum way as an alternate. I want to show you traffic along the east were freeway. I noticed some pockets of problems. They are down to 24 miles an hour. There is no accident on the roadway through there yet. That has been the case for the last couple weeks. We have seen some locations of a traffic pattern out of tracy over towards grant line. You can get brake lights around the dublin interchange. You might see a few brake lights. The travel times right now, they have slow speeds around westbound 580 and give yourself 33 minutes. Westbound 80 and he sure freeway is a 19 minute drive time. Lets go to the scene of this grass fire that we have been following all morning long in oakland. And arson investigator is on scene and firefighters are on patrol to make sure this does not reignite. This is on the west side of 880 north of the oakland arena. Here are the firefighters. The fire broke out after 4 am. This is a little bit later but it grew very quickly along oak port street, behind the east bay maintenance property. They called for backup and four anchors burned. This is the perfect time to take another look at the big board. A nice bump on this reopening day. The dow is now up more than 600 points. Taking a look at the roadways, here is a look at the upper deck of the bay bridge. We are seeing some traffic emerging. This is for folks heading into San Francisco. You are seeing some slowing here as you approach the area. There are no toll takers so just travel through. The delays will continue here. San mateo bridge is getting word of an accident westbound near the toll plaza and that is as you work your way with this closure of the right lane. A heat advisory for most of the bay area from 11 am until 7 pm. Temperatures are really going to soar and we have a hotter day this afternoon looking at triple digit heat for concord and livermore. 90 in oakland and 82 for San Francisco. Tomorrow, we are slightly cooler but still a warm to hot day across the bay area and we will continue on that cool down through the week and our next weather system could bring some showers and isolated thunderstorms. We are watching that closely for saturday. I think im going to need some ice cream to try to beat this heat. Ice cream sounds good. I am thinking rum raisin. You do not want rocky road .
