Thank you, developing this morning, nursing facilities across the bay area, seven seniors have died from the coronavirus at the Gateway Center in hayward. Another 33 others have tested positive and 25 Staff Members are infected. The state department that regulates Nursing Homes say the gateway and other facilities run by the same owner have dozens of violations and citations in recent years. Still no comment from the facility. Reporting a second patient death at the care center, a total of 50 people have tested positive at that facility. A nursing facility in san jose bringing in outside staff to help with the outbreak. 27 people had tested positive at the bridge post warmly called the Mount Pleasant nursing center. All these patients will be treated inhouse. You are having people who are captive there, in the sense that the patients there cannot get out. They are dependent upon others to help them with their life, to care for them. And you are bringing in people from the outside on a regular basis. A leading advocate for the rights of longterm care patients tells tran two that the pandemic highlights an existing issue, the low pay given to nursing aides. We expect these people to take their lives in the sands to care for very sick and elderly people and then open themselves to infection when they dont have any personal protective equipment. I think that is a lot to ask for people who are so underpaid. 70 of the staff in california Nursing Homes are nurses aides who often work in 23 different facilities in order to make ends meet. The number in california treating coronavirus is down. In total 1132 patients are being treated in intensive care. Governor newsom says while it is not a trend, it is encouraging news. Our state supply of ventilators has grown to more than 11,000 and Governor Newsom is clearing up some confusion about californias willingness to lend ventilators to other states. Its the responsible thing to do as american citizens, from a moral and ethical imperative, we have stretched our curve giving us a little more time. But we cannot just sit on assets when we can save lives. California can also call back ventilators it has lent out to other states if we need them back here. Really not going to affect your drive once you get onto the Golden Gate Bridge itself inks are clear from here all the way into the city. No delays on the northbound side. Not seeing any brake light there. The san mateo bridge, you can see a few more cars on the roadway but overall a very easy ride between 888 two 101 no delays there. In the south bay we do have some road work as well on northbound 101 just past 880. Intermittent lane closures in and around that area so keep your eyes peeled for that if you plan on taking a 80. 280 looks good but no delays. Downtown san jose all the way into the peninsula no delays there. Highway four is a pretty nice ride west out of antioch all the way to hercules. But there is roadwork on the connectors in and around 680 and highway four. You will see some caltrans workers in that area but right now not causing any brake lights.
