not as strong there and san jose seeing this at 14 miles per hour. as we look at the map as a whole, these are the current wind speeds. that's what the sustained number is. so it's 15 sustained in hayward. 13 in oakland. 6 in san jose. now the gusts as the winds pick up in intensity. ever so often, hayward hit 23. and concord at 37. and there's livermore at 3 # 2. all right. as you probably expect the wind advisory in effect doesn't expire until 11 a.m. on monday. but the worst of the winds will come through the afternoon for most of us. i am going to spotlight that in more detail in the complete forecast but there's one other thing i want to point out. it's not just a wind advisory for most lations look at area owinupin red. as you get on 08 and work through the delta, carquinez, that's where we have a high wind warning where we will see gusts to 60. anyone traveling on 80o the delta between now and 4:00 thissa this afternoon, expect dangerous winds to affect travel. fierce significant clue. . >> reporter: police say this is the metallic blue suv that hit the boy. the family of four had just returned from the store. there they were unloading groceries from the prius when the crash happened. witnesses say a little 4-year- old hector was holding a box of popsicles waiting for the family to grab the ot oceries etch was standing near his father on the driver's side door. that was when a speeding suv hit him. he landed about 25 feet away from the family car. . >> i heard a mom's cry. and a mom's cry is just really specific. you feel it in your heart. >> reporter: neighbor veronica ran out from the backyard to comfort the family. as another neighbor performed cpr on hector. paramedics airlifted the boy to a hospital where he later died. veronica is especially worried about hector's sister because the little girl witnessed the crash. >> now she has trauma. she has been traumatized and she is probably only like 7 years old. >> reporter: witnesses say the hit-and-run driver was a young black man in his 20s. he had a passenger. >> the guy came 35, maybe 40 miles miles per hour down the road and hit the kid here. and i saw him and he came up to about where my car was parked and came to a complete stop and turned around and i am pretty sure he saw what happened and just sped off. >> reporter: neighbors say speeding is a big problem on coalinga avenue. drivers go fast on the street. >> we are looking between the years of 99 and 20 had been 03 2003 two-door ford explorer which is not as common. it's a uncommon vehicle. >> reporter: inveorer s 16-year-old student who was shot and killed at deer valley high school last week. friends and family remembered jonathan parker as a loving kid who liked to stay home and play video games. shooting that ended his life happened on january 31st. police say the gunfire erupted during a fight that broke out after a basketball game. jonathan was hit three times and rush to the hospital, but he died hours later. so far, no arrests have been made. . new video of a wild pursuit through solano and cost are a costa counties. the chp helicopter was overnight as carjacking suspects sped down interstate 780 # in vallejo and across the venetia bridge into contra costa. the stolen pickup turned back but the chase came to an abrupt end when the driver sped into a curb and rolled the truck onto its roof. that grabs most pool's attention. mount st. helena at 81 miles per hour. but no one lives up there. that's way up in the mountains of the north bay. let's call out the other place where we live. cantedda rosa 33-mile-an-hour gust in the last hour. and concord 35. and san francisco, 28. that's in the city. but it's hit 33-mile-an-hour gust out at sfo. hayward, you are the one spot in the east bay that is registering noticeable gust of 23 miles per hour. doesn't itis not noticeably breezable but none of the sensors say we have bigger gusts. and san jose 14-mile-an-hour gusts. i mean that's not a whole lot. look at sustained wind in san jose, it's a 6-mile-an-hour breeze that occasionally gusts to 14. current wind speeds on the screen. everybody is noticed the wend pick up to some degree. and if we switch this over to the gust, you can see where the peak issues are. it's really along the coast. and still confined to the mountains. really up in the north bay and east bay. all right. that means the wind advisory in place until we get to 11:00 tomorrow morning. everyone where in blue is included in this. notice how most of the elevation in and around bay and communities of the north bay are not included. doesn't mean it's not going to be windy there. we have seen the wind pick up. it won't be bad enough to meet the criteria. and there's one other eye testimony we need to point out here. there's actually a high wind warning which is like two notches above a wind advisory. this means the winds will be noticeably more intense for the area in red and we are looking at the delta. this is basically where i-08 cuts up through fairfield. that's the main concern because travel concerns is the biggest factor there until 4 in the afternoon. if we watch the way the wind plays out, this gets us ahead to 1 in the afternoon. this is peak wind gusts time. now we are seeing gusts hit near 30 across much of the bay area. we are taking a look across the south bay and east bay here. so it gets strongest in the afternoon and dies down a bit overnight and by tomorrow we get a break. let's do the same for the north bay. i will play it forward into the afternoon once again similar story. pes coming through the afternoon. and by tonight, things start tocalm down at lower elevations where the majority of us live, places like santa rosa petaluma. daytime highs. be back up into the low 60s for most places i don't think the temperatures are really going to be when you notice about today. it is the wind. but temperatures will be what you notice about monday and tuesday. look at that warmup. we turn the wind off and will warm temperatures up. low 70s for inland spots and mid-60s for much of the rest of the 7-day throughout the rest of the day. no rain. see you with weather senter. 7:06 is going to berye. so this is when we start to a notice the intensity start to pick up. first thing i want to do is show you what we have done. because the numbers for gusts within the last two hours are already pretty impressive. of course i will start with the temperatures. those are relatively warm. it's in the low to mid-50s for many spots. oakland, concord, san francisco at 53. but it's not the temperatures that you will notice. it's the wind and if you take a look at the gusts, we have hit an 80-mile-an-hour gusts in the mountains of the north bay. but down at the lower elevations where the cities and communities we live in santa rosa hit 33-mile-an-hour gusts within the last hour. concord hit 35. san francisco at 28. although, the weather spotter in the city of san francisco has reported a 40-mile-an-hour gust in the city. and hayward 23is one of the strongest gusts so far for the east bay. looking at the currents on the map, there's wider view. san jose at 6-mile-per-hour breeze which gusts occasionally to 14. here's take away on this. wind advisory stays in effect until 11 a.m. tomorrow. but it's really this afternoon when we will notice the worst of this. gusts are about to pick up in continue tenseity entitiesity a bit. bay area wide. i will spotlight that. but one more mention in addition to the wind advisory there's a high wind warning which means much higher intensity. anywhere in red through the delta on 80, fairfield, we could see gusts approaching 60 from now until 4 in the afternoon. that has an impact on travel on 80. agent. we have few details right now. but police say it happened last night in ashberry street. the agent was not injured but the other man was injured and brought to a hospital with life- threatening get to one in the afternoon. 36 in livermore. and it's right around 30 for much of the bay as well. and once we get past the afternoon and into the early evening, while the wind doesn't turn off completely, it is going to get better. and for tomorrow morning, it's just breezy for most of us. so let's get through this afternoon and early evening. but i want to come back to theearlier part of the day. this says 11:30. so you can see the intensity of the wind once again out here. but take a look at what happened over here on the east side of the city in the peninsula. see how there's a brighter red band exending around the east side this is the front lines. so you have the bay here which is just open water. there's in the wa so the wind speeds will be able to pick up speed as they get pushed offshore. and if you are on the front lines like burlingame and san mateo, into the late morning and early afternoon, we will notice more in the intensity over here. sausalito is included in there. north bay a similar forecast. into the afternoon. wind speeds picks up in intensity and getting into the evening, the worst of it will start to lighten up a bit. so, the take away is the wind advisory stays in effect until we get to 11:00 tomorrow morning for all the areas in blue on here. that's most of us. and then as we take a detailed look at the delta, anyone driving on 80 today. up through fairfield, this is more intense. that's a high wind warning. that tells us we are not looking at gusts of 40 but we could see gusts at 60 miles an hour through the delta and on 80. that's going to make traveldifficult today. temperatures coming into the low 60s today. i doubt you will notice it's the wind that will really be the headline. tomorrow, you can notice the temperatures because we have got a warmup coming or way. we will be in the low 70s for inland spots for monday and tuesday. and then it's mid-60s after than and it will be mid-60s for the bay for the next few days
