State insurance Officials Say tyler chen made it appear as if the fires at 2 homes were the result of careless cooking accidents. He also put smoke damage possessions inside those homes. Many of the burned things were used in insurance claims from fires at his warehouses and businesses that all happened between 2011 and 2013. Investigators say chen and a coconspirator were trying to get more than 5 million in damages. They received roughly 4 million from 5 insurance companies. And San Francisco is a step closer to getting more emergency resources. They want to increase the number of portable Fire Department tankers and pipelines. City Officials Say right now Emergency Water services only cover the northeast part of city living neighborhoods like the richmond and sunset districts unprotected.
