The public can weigh in on a Virtual Forum thursday night. Final decision will be made november 12th. Lets get a check of our weather with rob maeda. Normally in november we would see some rain, but it doesnt seem like we are getting that any time soon. No, and its kind of the way october wrapped up, one of the warmest octobers weve seen in the bay area. This weekend we have temperatures in the 80s and an extension of those late summer like temperatures expected again tomorrow. 80s across most of the bay area. Dry for election day. And then we hope some rain chances next weekend. But its a little complicated. Well walk you through some of the issues coming up in a moment. Lets take you outside where we have cooled off pretty nicely after the warm day. San jose in the upper 50s outside. Humidity numbers are up a bit with the light winds. Keep that in mind, could have some patchy fog in the morning, especially the north bay and bay side locations. Livermore down to 53 degrees. You can see San Francisco still near 60. So for the morning we drop into the 40s. Low 40s around santa rosa down to 42 degrees. 50s for oakland and San Francisco. And san jose. Patchy fog and a few high clouds passing by at times. Heading into the afternoon, doesnt look much like november. Upper 70s around San Francisco. You notice some fog coming down the coast. Signs of a little bit of cooler as we head to the middle part of the week. 80 tomorrow. In oakland 85. Santa rosa, morgan hill up to 88 degrees. And 84 in san jose. So were watching friday very closely. The two medium range weather models. One, this particular one at least bringing a chance of showers, while the other looks quite a bit dryer. So something changed in that forecast in the last 24 hours. Notice where the low is now. Not off to our west. So it travels inland to our north, and notice how the showers arent as widespread, especially from friday into saturday. So there will be two windows of opportunity for seeing a few showers. I think more for the sierra where they could see snow at the higher peak. Thats a little bit of good news. As we get into saturday night and sunday, notice how most of the showers we do think will be staying off to the north and to the east of the bay area. But what you will notice is the big drop in temperatures starting around friday. So San Francisco straight on through election day well see 70s. Staying warm again through thursday. Then those numbers really drop. Its going to feel blustery out there with that north west wind, highs in the low 60s, in the valley well spend most of the week in the 80s. Cooling into the 60s as we head toward next weekend. Well watch the thursday night forecast. 49ers in levi stadium hosting the green bay packers. Well see temperatures in the 70s as the game wraps up. Thursday is probably the last of the kind of late summer like days. Notice how the temperatures cool into the low 60s next weekend. So it will feel more like november, but in terms of those november expectations for rain right now, again, any storm that passes to the north or to the east, usually doesnt have a whole lot of moisture to work with. Hopefully that changes over the next couple of days, but right now cooler and breezy as opposed to rainy. Thats the way next weeks forecast is shaping up. Coming up a closer look at election day forecast around the bay area. Well have that at about 11 45. Book to you. Rob, thanks very much. The warriors are heading to court and not a basketball court. Donald trump narrowly winning all three and with them the white house. That disconnect has fueled doubts about todays polls that show joe biden with a comfortable advantage. It would be nice if some of this could show up towards the end of the week, as were now in the month of november and more or less after halloween, this is usually the gateway to which the rainy season gets started around the bay area. In fact, the five wettest months, november, december, january, february and march, but as youre about to see in the sevenday forecast, at least for the first week of november, those rain chances may be a little tough to find. Lets take you to the morning forecast where the clouds will likely find patchy fog setting up for a few areas for the morning. Especially around the north bay. You can see a chilly start, too. Santa rosa down to 42 degrees. 50s from oakland to San Francisco. 53 in san jose. And highs again tomorrow pretty much what we had today. Those numbers still climbing into the 80s around the bay area. Upper 80s around morgan hill. San francisco to oakland upper 70s to low 80s. Mid80s for santa rosa and the trivalley. So lets jump to the election day forecast. Now were focusing on tuesday and a few things to watch could be the patchy fog as polls open around 7 00 in the morning, 8 00 at night. Thanks to the time change, its going to cool off pretty quickly. Upper 70s in san jose. Not too bad tuesday. Closer to 70 degrees. 50s toward 8 00 in the evening. Around the north bay heading up toward the north bay valleys, 7 00 a. M. Probably looking at some fog on tuesday morning. And inland temperatures not quite as warm as what well see tomorrow. Walnut creek mid80s expected for monday. Tuesday still near 80 degrees, but overall pretty pleasant weather around the bay area as youll find those low 80s from walnut creek down into livermore. Now the allimportant rain chances. What will we find in the forecast . This is how things looked last night as the weather models turned. We had a good approach of rain from the west. We saw this swerve to the north. When these lows track inland to our north, drop east of us down towards the sierra, they typically dont bring as much moisture. And sure enough that is one of the shifts weve seen away from rain chances to what well call shower chances. We may get a little bit of that on friday. Actually right now the better chance of showers might come in saturday into sunday. This is cold enough to drop perhaps the first significant snow for parts of the sierra, so that is the Silver Lining to this, even if the bay area doesnt get a lot of rain, parts of the state should see showers, and we hope some sierra snow next weekend. Notice the cooling temperatures. Once we pass thursday, dropping to the 70s next weekend. Its going to feel more like november weather as we get into the weekend. Two chances of for showers will be friday. The better bet is north bay. Saturday night into sunday, showers that are to the north may try to drift over the bay area. Again, if you have any travel plans in the sierra, we might see winter storm advisories or watches going up. Again, that storm will be cold enough for some sierra snow. But as things look right now tracking inland, doesnt look like a great rain producer for us. But the cooler temperatures and at least the chance of sierra snow showers is a Little Something to look forward to for next weekend, at least how things look right now. Lets send it back to you.
