That continues over the next couple days. In terms of temperatures, were looking at some low 80s in the south bay and mid 80s for the east bay and 85 today in napa. Well get a look at all the microclimates coming up. Mike, how is it looking right now for the morning drive. Couple things stand out unusual, kari. The unusual is the green that we see, except for out of the Altamont Pass and eastbound 84 where we still have a few yellow sensors there. No scheduled construction and no problems reported but ill monitor the problem and slowing southbound 880 because of construction just 92 heading down towards industrial market. The man accused in headline grabbing a lemur from San Francisco zoo is expected to appear in court this morning. Cory mcgillway will enter a plea. Police arrested him a few days after the lemur were recovered on the grounds of the preschool. Based on evidence recovered in the property. Also good news for san mateo county. It could move into the orange tier soon. The county can advance to the less restrictive level if it fifin next week. The hot fire danger still in effect in our area. We need to be very careful over these next 24 hours until this red flag warning expires. Were seeing all of our hilltops and possibly getting those gusts up to 50 Miles Per Hour for today and that especially includes our north bay. Elevations above 1,000 feet. The santa cruz mountains, as well as the east bay and all of those areas up above 1,000 feet. So far wind gusts for some of the valley locations have been up to about 27 Miles Per Hour in San Francisco. Inland heading over to concord and up to about 13. We havent seen so many of those strong wind gusts in some of the low lying areas and, once again, the hilltops quite windy. Mike, as youre driving around the bay area, how is it looking for the commute . Across the bay we are worried about the dum babarton bridge. 84 the Speed Sensors coming back and maybe a slower moving truck and two of them perhaps cause that. This is because of the crew. The slowing southbound through hayward from about 92 and coming off the transition off the san mateo bridge and whipple should clear up once you pass by that. Kari . Right. Were going to start off with taking a look at our Drought Conditions because we know its been so dry. We will get the Drought Monitor update this morning but our vegetation has been very crispy because we didnt get a lot of rain this year. Now we have severe Drought Conditions for much of the north bay and, in fact, its extreme Drought Conditions. We have a lot of severe drought heading over from santa rosa to San Francisco and over towards the east bay and then for the south bay, we are now in a moderate drought. So with this, weve seen our reservoirs going way down. Right now our south bay reservoirs are only at 34 of the historical average. So, as those levels continue to drop, unfortunately, we are not looking very good here with the Drought Conditions and very Low Reservoir storage. But then as we look statewide, we are doing a little bit better especially as you head towards Southern California where theres no Drought Conditions right now at this point. So, the drought has mainly been for central, Northern California and definitely here in the bay area. So, well be watching that today with our high fire danger but then as we head out the door with our temperatures in the 50s, its going to start to warm up. Lets take you through lunchtime and in oakland 75 degrees and well see also 75 degrees in san jose and redwood city about 74 degrees and for the north bay, some upper 70s but then as we go through the forecast, cooling down for tonight not as much as our wednesday. Pretty gusty. High pressure will be just off to our west and couple storm systems passing to our north and that will create a lot of the gusty winds over the next few days but it will be so nice to get these cooler temperatures in here and i want to show you san jose and our temperature trend over the next seven days. Going from the low 80s to the 70s and if you can believe it on sunday, the High Temperature will only be 69 degrees and then warm up just gradually going into the beginning of next week. As we get ready to head out the door, mike, how is it looking for the commute . Looking kind of the last time as we took a look but that doesnt mean its all clear. Folks, were looking at green sensors for everyone that are going to change or change very soon. Southbound 880 heading towards hayward from 92 and coming off of 92 heading towards industrial. We do have that slow zone. The overnight crew blocking two lanes. We dont see slowing until they clear, but weve seen this for a half hour as ive been watching. Get up towards oakland and the wester tube is still closed until 5 00. Another 10, 15 minutes until that clears and get over to the island of alameda coming over from the alameda area and scheduled maintenance in the area. Also maintenance on 880 between 23rd and 29th.
