Were feeling temperatures in the east bay and low 60s and well see a few clouds early but once that clears out, we have another really nice day with highs reaching into mid 60s near the coast and mid 70s for the bay and we have some mid to upper 80s for the interior valleys. We will have a weekend heat up. Weve been talking about that. You can get the details on that coming up in a few minutes. Mike, hows it looking for the morning drive . Pretty much everythings great. I said pretty much. One spot, kari, a problem for folks coming out of the Altamont Pass. The map shows you it stands out over on the right and the slowing approaching greenville, just before you get to greenville reports of a disabled semi truck 53 feet of trailer mra blocking the slow lane. A big distraction and another few minutes until that company gets a second truck there. When they do to switch out the rigs, they may have to block another lane. Well track that. That will be an issue delaying folks coming from the interchange and could benefit for some others. Back to you. Thanks, mike. The streets of louisville quiet this morning. This is after an emotional time following the decision not to charge officers in the Deadly Police shooting involving breonna taylor. That decision doesnt mean the full investigation is over. The fbi has yet to weigh in. But protesters across louisville are making their voices heard. This happened yesterday following that decision. Some in tears. Two officers were shot 30 minutes after a citywide curfew expired. The citys interim police chief saying he is concerned for officers on the ground. Im very concerned about the safety of our officers. We had two officers shot tonight and that is a very serious, dangerous condition. I think the safety of our officers and the community we serve is of utmost importance. Now both of the officers shot are expected to survive. The National Guard is now on standby in louisville due to possibly more violence. More than six months ago, taylor was killed in her home afrs officers with a noknock warrant broke down her door. No officers were charged in her death. A former Louisville Police sergeant faces charges for shooting taylors neighbor. Well back here in the bay area demonstrators also making their voices heard. A small group of protesters remain outside of San Jose City hall as a sign of solidarity for Breonna Taylors family. They plan to stay there indefinitely to bring awareness to racial injustice. They say theyre not going away because the issue is not going away either. Breonna taylor. In the meantime, in oakland, several hundred people gathered at the lake merritt ampitheater. Calling for taylor to receive justice. Another demonstration is planned in the city later today. In San Francisco, mostly peaceful scene as protesters rallied outside of the Mission District headquarters also calling for change. We just keep on seeing people that look like us and people that are related to people were related to being killed with zero accountability and zero recourse in the system. The group eventually marking to the block to where they shot and killed luis back in 2016. They held a moment of silence and called for police accountability. Well, now to new video of hundreds of people protesting the grand jury decision. Demonstrations and demonstrators gathering last night in downtown los angeles. At times impeding traffic but remaining peaceful for the most part. As of this morning, no reports of any Property Damage or arrests. The protests extending across the country, new york city, thousands of people hit the streets demanding justice in chicago. Officers block nearly every intersection that led to police headquarters. They also used saumelt trucks t line the streets as barriers. Were continuing to monitor all the developments following the grand jury decision. Well, happening today, Governor Newsom will join global state and local leaders virtually this morning to push for more reform when it comes to Climate Change efforts here in california. This comes following a big announcement that he plans to ban the sale of all gas powered cars and trucks in the state by the year 2035. While signing that executive order, california already accounts for half of the nations electric car sales and says that that move is projected into lowering Greenhouse Gas emissions by 35 . Willow glen will see temperatures in the mid 60s and then the clouds clearing out for a really nice, comfortable day as we will make it into the upper 70s here. We need to favor these cooler temperatures because this weekend thats when the heat up comes. Yeah, its going to be very hot this weekend. And its been nice to have a break from that high heat. Were still looking at that today with some comfortable temperatures in the south bay reaching into the upper 70s and low 80s which is actually a little bit cooler than normal as we reach up to 83 degrees in morgan hill and upper 70s in cupertino. As we move over towards the east bay were also looking at some very nice, beautiful weather with that good air quality continuing. As we look at highs that will reach into the mid 70s for hayward. Danville expect a high of 86 degrees. Now, were going to see some upper 70s for redwood city and some upper 60s for daly city and in San Francisco mostly in the 60s today with a high of 69 in the Mission District and north bay high temperatures reaching into the 80s. 82 today in napa and in sonoma. As we go into the weekend, were going to see some changes and its been really nice to also see that rain moving across parts of the Pacific Northwest while that will continue to push off towards the east and behind that we have a strong area of High Pressure that will be building and with High Pressure we have a clockwise wind flow around it. That is going to force our winds off shore and also cause some dry conditions, as well as some very warm weather. So that increases our fire danger for the weekend. Some of those winds may gust up to 50 miles per hour. Some of our upper elevations and as that air flows across a lot of our hills and our mountains across california, were going to see a high fire danger in the north bay and a moderate fire danger for the diablo range. We are going to see this fire weather watch in effect for saturday morning and continuing into monday morning but also take a look at the tempsceratur that is coming along with. 80s today and tomorrow. Some of the warmest spots on saturday the low 90s and then triple digits between sunday and early next week. So, its going to be hot for several days. The Sacramento Bee is reporting that murder hornets have now invaded washington state. It first popped up in washington last year. Researchers say the hornets will start moving down along the west coast in the next several years. They like places that rain a lot, but extreme heat can be deadly. The department of agriculture say hornets actually attack beehives and can destroy a hive in just hours. Well, the bay area is nearing 100,000 confirmed covid19 cases right now according to the latest state numbers. The nine bay area counties are reporting nearly 99,000 cases combined. Chronicle reporting bay area officials working on a plan for 20 2050 that will keep 60 of their workers home.
