This is another Shopping Center hit last night. You see the sprint store and its front window knocked out. The gap store and the parking lot you see the debris from the merchandise. People lost their get off the property. This is one of several locations throughout the east bay and particularly in san leandro that were hit overnight. One Police Officer was telling me that the looters were everywhere. The police were chasing their own tails trying to keep up. They hit the marina Shopping Center. They hit the bay fair shopping mall. A designer shoe warehouse. According to Law Enforcement the looters were operating in caravans of cars, would drop up to a location, hop out, put their stuff in a car, go off to another location. Union city police said criminals were specifically targeting landing and they arrived in large vans and trucks with a clear intent to commit crimes. That walmart fire, here is the walmart at davis 880. They had to call back a second time because people went in there. They ransacked the place and set fire. At one point the fire went through the roof. The Fire Department was able to save the building. This was something we saw about 90 minutes ago. The fire sprinklers were on by design. The Fire Department wants to make sure nothing flares up. All that merchandise damage so the Fire Department estimates all that merchandise in the walmart is a comple something that the Sheriffs Office was saying, just how bad is it . They hit stores like nordstroms and vans. The east bay times says one woman was shot apparently by someone driving by involved in the riot. Police helped her get medical assistance. In San Francisco similar to walnut creek many came out to peacefully protest the death of george floyd. Then mayor london breed says outside splinter groups broke off and caused much damage to businesses. Mayor breed had words for the groups that gathered outside of her house over the weekend. The taunting of me coming outside with fireworks torches in their hands looking like what used to happen when the kkk would show up to black peoples houses to burn their houses down. Firefighters are still monitoring the area. Firefighters were called to the walmart twice overnight. Crews say that all the merchandise inside considered a loss. Looters appeared to have stolen clothes, tvs, diapers and even child car seats. From san leandro to hayward, a gun shop looted. There were two vehicles, one rammed into the gate while the other followed in. Police and the gun shop owner are reviewing the inventory to figure out how many guns were stolen. To walnut creek, broken glass. A young woman, possibly a vandal, was shot in the arm by someone in a car. Officers at every intersection shutting down those streets asking businesses to close. So far theyre not saying how many people were arrested. And a live look now at downtown san jose as the sun has come up. Until further notice the city will be under a curfew from 8 30 in the evening until 5 00 in the morning because of extensive damage that happened in the city of san jose over the last few days particularly in the downtown area. Mayor sam liccardo hopes it will keep protests peaceful and stop people from breaking the law. Business owners who were targeted by the looters there, the curfew will remain in place for the rest of the week.
