Some bay area doctors felt that call to go help some of the hospital workers in new york city that were on the front line stretched physically thin from all the work that theyve been doing. One of those doctors is right back home at their home in menlo park. After serving a great term there. The doctor is a surgeon at stanford. Shes back home in menlo park and says that working with the sickest covid19 patients in new york was difficult. One night it took four doctors to stabilize a patient. Even then the situation, she says, felt hopeless. I really felt a lot of guilt for not being on the front line and not being able to help patients. At first i stayed in california and wondered if i might be needed there. When it became clear that things were mostly going to be okay there because we sheltered in place so early, i looked at what happens happening in new york and really pretty quickly decided that i wanted to come and help. Then we start to see things changing by the end of the weekend once that wind flow shifts. That High Pressure moves out and were going to cool off by sunday.
