The week. Right now there are more than a dozen fires across the state. The largest is the kincade fire in the north bay. And here is the latest numbers. We know the fire has burned more than 54,000 acres. Containment has dropped to 5 . 94 buildings have been destroyed and another 80,000 are threatened by flames. Firefighters now believe it will take at least until november 7th to contain the fire. Thousands of schools are closed today because of smoke and the ongoing Power Outages. In fact we have a full list on nbcbayarea. Com and also run those on the bottom of your screen right now. And we are tracking new evacuations overnight in Sonoma County as the fire continues to spread, today in the bay Sharon Katsuda is near windsor and giving us different vantage points all morning long. What do you see now . Reporter that is right, laura and marcus, were here off of pleasant avenue new thought road where there was an active fire a couple of hours ago and behind me there are still some flareups along the hillside. About an hour ago we showed you a house spared in this fire that has moved west. They are still fighting the fire. You could see the orange glow along the ridgeline. Looking at video, the firefighters told me the last house we were at the flames got to the backyard, got very close but they managed to save the home. So very dangerous situation out of here. We are in the heart of the evacuation area. When i talked to the firefighter as we arrived, he said that tess definitely still an active fire and as we just showed you in the ridgeline area, we so see that from this vantage point, that is definitely a lot of firefighters out there battling this blaze. Now back here live, we passed through many road closures just to get here, highway 101 and rod achillesures along wi windsor and that area and stoplights are out and this is the evacuation area. Overnight this is what progressed and were hearing different reports of deputies saying they stopped the run going west and then the Fire Department has yet to confirm that. And i just got off the phone with cal fire and they will provide an update at 7 00 with all of the details. Reporting live, im Sharon Katsuda, today in the bay. At least 180,000 people have been forced to flee homes because of the fire and here is a look at all of the evacuation zones right here on your screen. Sharon katsuda was just telling us that those evacuations there in the shiloh ridge area of windsor. There are several Evacuation Centers open and they are set to be filling up quickly. Here is a list of the locations on your screen. The napa valley expo center, the Sonoma County fair grounds, the marin county and petaluma fair grounds. Also st. Marys cathedral in San Francisco opening at 8 00 for those impacted. 603 now. We know the winds have impacted the fires. Weve talked to cal fire officials who said those gusts yesterday were carrying embers up to a mile away. Look at how fast the winds were moving and we saw the fire start in vallejo and then on the other side in crockett yesterday due to the high wind gusts and then look at mt. Saint helena reaching 87 and then healdsburg reaching 93 miles per hour. The good news this morning is that things have since calmed down but we could also see from this camera to the east of windsor where the fire still continues to burn. Some flames that are just out of control at this point. So we are going to see some lighter winds, at least for most of the bay area but also bringing in smoke so coming up in a couple of minutes ill talk about the air quality today, heading now over to mike. A little traffic flow this morning. That is right, kari. Because we had the outages and a tremendous impact for the north bay fires. Over here the bay bridge toll plaza does have the metering lights on. Just about your typical time. But south of here, lighter traffic just kicking in for 680 through pleasanton and south 880 for hayward. That is a standard pattern south of the bay bridge. But look at how light the rest of Contra Costa County is. And slowing 80, overnight we had lane restrictions across the carquinez bridge and that was for firefighters and well talk about the glen cove fire but looking at the kincade fire. This is an area that keeps 128 closed but highway 101 is open. Remember this tremendous evacuation zone so traffic will be different. Back to you. Thanks, mike. 6 05. Take a look at this right here. And this is what many people in the east bay had to deal with yesterday. A fire there at the carquinez bridge that shut down traffic. Look at that smoke. This morning there is real concern about all of that smoke billowing into the bay and it is not just smoke from the kincade fire. Today in the bay bob redell live in martinez. And, bob, what do people know as they head out of the door this morning . Reporter well it is a spare the air alert day again, marcus. But recall we had one the end of the last weekend. You have one today. You could smell the smoke here in martinez you know there is something burning somewhere but were talking about the fires in the north bay. Take a look at map we put together. A series of different colored circles on there. Normally you want the air quality to be green. That indicates the air quality index is from zero to 50. That is good. But right now red circles, reading well over 100 and in some places 200 and last years campfire at chico that sent our air quality soaring into the 400s. Were not there yet and hopefully wont be there but the air quality is not good now. The bay air quality air district has believed that the winds will shift later today and send more smoke our way instead of out over the pacific ocean. This is a reminder to the elderly and children and anyone with chronic lung conditions to stay indoors and for all of us to avoid rigorous exercise. Reporting live here in martinez, bob redell, today in the bay. Good advice, bob. Thank you. It is 6 07 and now to an update on Power Outages across northern california. More than a Million People waking up without power in the bay area. Some of the latest outages were not even part of the planned blackout but they were windrelated. And this morning pg e said it hopes to restore power to all customers before the next windstorm that is coming our way. Pg e expects to start giving the all clear for some areas between 6 00, which is right now, and 8 00 this morning. But we need to brace for yet another potential outage as soon as tomorrow. Pg e said it is already sending out notifications for tomorrow to half a million homes and businesses across northern california. So weve been closely following that next wind event. But look at this right here. More damage from the strong winds. Check out this tree. It fell in oakland yesterday in the claremont area. Where the claremont dmv is. It fell on to several cars, completely smashing the roof and windshield of one of the cars. And in menlo park, a tree came crashing down into a home, barely missing the family inside. Today in the bay kris sanchez has more on the damage theyre dealing with this morning. Chris . Reporter hi laura and marcus, you could see the red tag on the front of the house here in menlo park. That is where the tree came down. But you have to see pictures to see how terrifying it must have been for the young family inside. They were home with just a little baby. That is just part of a 100yearold tree that came down on this home hitting the cathedral ceiling made of glass and shattered and rained down on that baby girl and they are parents. They were shaken up but okay. They just moved here from italy for a job opportunity. However, the home is now unlivable so they are look for someplace else to say. Roof is clearly damaged and several bearing walls in two different rooms. The menlo park fire chief said the department ramped up staffing in anticipation of the windstorm and while the firefighters were working in the community they serve and others are working the kincade fire up in sonoma countries. Now the power is on here in menlo park but as you mentioned there are more preemptive power shutoffs coming up tomorrow and ill talk about that more in depth in the next half hour. In menlo park, kris sanchez, today in the bay. Thank you. And kari, weve been talking about the winds. And just looking at behind you unhealthy. The air quality is just not good now. It is bad today and especially later on this afternoon. Well see the plume of smoke from the kincade fire start to move in to most of the rest of the north bay this morning and then the rest of the bay area for this afternoon. But it will unhealthy for sensitive groups as bob redell pointed out, if you are young or elderly or breathing problems, it is not good to spend long periods of time outside. We see our winds blowing off the coast to start out this morning. But then as the winds calm down we see it shift from t from te northwest and at times breeze but we see the smoke settling in part of the valley and the east bay and south bay. Before our winds increase again tomorrow, especially in the north bay and the east bay into tomorrow evening into wednesday morning. So ill have a closer look at the timeline of this coming up in a few minutes. Mike, the wind was a concern for the chp. That is right, kari. The chp gave a warning no advisories from kari in her weather system but we are talking about the drive across the san mateo and dumbarton bridge and gusting overnight and that is why we have winds and so much going on with the power and fires but south of the bay bridge moves very smoothly. Flowing from 680 through pleasanton and 880 through hayward and the build west across the san mateo bridge were starting later, and lighter for the commute around most of the bay. We have a slowdown west 80 toward the carquinez bridge which is open. Closed yesterday for fire and smoke. But this morning it is open for business. So we did see earlier more activity across the benecia bridge and now theyve resumed typical commute i believe and lighter overall through the north bay. We still have the closure for 128 from geyserville because of the kincade fire. And the bay bridge toll plaza, a crash reported but i dont see it affecting the lanes. Back to you. 6 11 now. As we continue our fire coverage, when we come back, the impact from the fires seen up close. I was back there with a garden hose. On my hands and knees trying to save it from running down. The emotional moment one vallejo man experienced when he realize his home was saved. Plus well have a quick check of all of the other things going on in the world. Brexit has been delayed. Well take a look at that coming up. 6, 7, 8 big dreams start with small steps. But dedication can get you there. So just start small. Start saving. Easily set, track and control your goals right from the chase mobile® app. Chase. Make more of whats yours®. Right now it is 6 15, were under a microclimate weather alert due to unhealthy air quality. And as we look live outside in palo alto. You head out door to a chilly start. Well drop down to 45 degrees before we get a slow rise in the temperatures today. Well also see some smoke coming in this afternoon. Ill talk about the timing of that and when the winds will pick up again in the forecast coming up in less than five minutes. A live look at oakland showi showing northbound. I think i know what they are checking and it is on the south side. Well check on that and an important route out of contra costa commute that may be affected. A quick Silicon Valley update before the fire. Pg e stock falling hard as remaining investors worry about the liability of the fires. Airbnb opening up a program to allow people to offer homes for free to those displaced by the fire. About 200,000 people have been displaced. Now it is not obvious where to find this online on the company site. Ive tweeted out a link. Relief workers and firefighters and nurses also eligible. The offer lasts through november 7th. The big Business News of the day, brexit has been delayed again. Britain was supposed to leave no later than thursday. The e. U. Will reportedly allow britain to stay until january 31st of next year. Don valentine died over the weekend, the founder of Sequoia Capital and the son of a new york city milk man and one of the people that made Silicon Valley one of the most important places in the world. And on friday we talked about 3d printing but instead brought you coverage of the fires. You could see that episode at pressheretv. Com and run in at a later date. Thank you, scott. Back to the fire coverage this morning. And in vallejo, a glen cove man overcome with emotion after firefighters saved him home. Look at him holding on to the firefighter and thanking him. He didnt want to let go. And then after that exchange, that man that you see there to your left just lies down on the ground overcome with emotion. This all happened as were doing a Facebook Live report on yesterdays glen cove fire near the carquinez bridge. She later spoke when the man became incredibly emotional. This is my biggest fear. And they came for me and it was just as soon as they could get the hoses across the street back there and saved the houses back there and it looks like all of them were saved. I was going to try to do everything i could to try to save my house with the garden hose and i didnt think anything could work but as it was burning up to my fence line and burning my neighbors fence and embers were falling and we were fighting off on both sides and it looks like it held it off just in time for the firefighters to come up. Just overcome with emotion realizing what could happen if firefighters had not arrived. But good news for you out of this, all of those homes in that neighborhood were saved. No homes were burned in vallejo. Look at him hug that firefighter. He didnt want to let him go. You could feel his emotion. In the superhero movies and everything moves slow and it is like that. And my house burned down when i was younger and when the firefighters arrived and our hearts go out to them. I know were doing a lot of fire coverage but it is important to give these people information that they need. Absolutely. And especially with the conditions that were experiencing. Because a lot of those conditions have been fuelling the fire. And when its what that windy yesterday, the only thing they could do is get out of the way because those fire conditions which are so erratic. I wanted to show you a camera that we had just to the east of windsor this morning. And it is showing intense flames on pepperwood west. Looking over towards where the kincade fire is burning. Some really intense flames. Even as the winds start to calm down this morning. Temperatures are also plummeting in that area. As we get the lighter winds, it is now just a few degrees above freezing in santa rosa. It is 41 in napa. And 44 now in concord. But where we do see more of a breezy wind coming through. Teams are slightly higher so were starting out with a chilly morning. Right now 24 degrees lower now compared to yesterday at this time. And much of the bay area starting out with a cooler morning. So grab a heavier jacket if you are on the way out of the door heading to work and in Pleasant Hill going to the b. A. R. T. Station, it is in the mid40s. We are encouraging everyone to take transit today because it is a spare the air alert day. Because of the drifts of smoke we want to reduce the amount of pollution in the atmosphere as well. Our teams today will reach into the upper 60s and low 70s. A little bit cooler than it was yesterday. And part of the reason why it is cooler is because of the cold front that swept through and also the wildfire smoke will hold those temperatures down a few more degrees. Well start to see the smoke drifting in out of the north bay going into the afternoon. As our winds come in from the northwest and there will at times be breezy winds into the evening and then calming down tonight. But just the direction of the wind will bring in more smoke than weve seen recently. Then well start to see winds picking up again tomorrow. Coming in from the north and northeast at about 20 to 30 miles per hour. This is our second burst of winds. And this will also cause some erratic fire behavior, especially in the north bay as well as the east bay into early wednesday morning before we start to catch another break. So here is the first low that came in with that cold front and brought the high winds. There is another one right behind that. And we still have the High Pressure sitting to the west. So when you have a High Pressure next to low pressure it makes it gusty. So that is what were going to see over the next couple of days. Before we start to see the storms moving away, well be left with High Pressure, some lighter winds and some slightly warmer temperatures going into the weekend. So as we go through the next seven days, no chances of rain here and the gusty winds picking up tomorrow evening, continuing into wednesday morning. Halloween is looking good with highs in the low 70s. And it will be a little bit warmer in time for the weekend. Mike, youre checking out something in oakland. I told folks i saw the flashing lights travel north past the coliseum and looking back to a report of wood debris and ive seen no problems here for the slowing on the sensor but it is okay and watch for updates. The bay bridge toll plaza has the biggest backup. Despite slowing toward the carquinez bridge which is open this morning, and i know it was closed yesterday for the glen cove fire but this morning no problems there. And in sassco, as volume builds out of brendwood and byron there is a signal out be careful because someone called it into chp saying no one is stopping and that is a place where we often see crashes so it is very careful there. The rest of the bay shows a lighter volume of traffic. 680 south and 880 through hayward, not much of a problem. The whole bay area is affected even if they dont have outages or fires, everybody is concerned about the conditions. Back to you. Most certainly. Thank you, mike. 6 22 now. And next an update on the largest evacuations in sonoma countriess history. Well talk live with someone who could give us a better idea of how much space is left after those Evacuation Centers are quickly filling up. Youre watching today in the bay. 6 25 and welcome back as we continue to cover what is going on with the kincade fire as it continues to burn. Joining us on the phone right now is rohesh lal of the area. Thank you for joining us again. What could you tell us about the evacuation because yesterday there were centers that were overcome with activity and they were full. Is there room now and where. Youre referring to the evacuation shelters now. There have been several open during the night and theyre accepting evacuees and i could go through that list for the first one in sonoma countries fair grounds is accepting evacuees again. The santa rosa Veterans Memorial building is also accepting evacuees. We have Calvary Chapel church in petaluma near memory care in petaluma and iglesias christiania in petaluma. And the Napa Valley College in napa and the napa valley expo in napa as well. And across commune church also in napa and saint marys cathedral which opens at 8 00 a. M. Today in San Francisco. Sos that go ahead. Yes, again, we thank our other counties for pitching in and helping us out. For large animals, the Alameda County fair grounds in pleasanton is still taking large animals and the petaluma fair grounds. Okay. What about new new any evacuation orders . Last night there was some fire activity in the shiloh and wikiup area and we reissued the mandatory evacuation in place to get people out who are not already evacuated. Fortunately the winds sort of calmed down and that fire was under control. That is right. And the mandatory evacuations are still in effect. I understand people may think it is okay to go. It is still not. And these evacuation orders are for Public Safety and we appreciate the publics compliance. We appreciate you taking the time to join us this morning with that extensive little. Rohish lal with Sonoma County this morning. We arent the only ones deal with the fire. The situation in l. A. Rapidly changing right now. Next, well tell you about the updates were getting on the getty fire. Plus more outages ahead. Before pg e even turns that power back on, another blackout is again in the works. The timeline from pg e andkerri is updating the forecast the whipping winds. To say the conditions are a tinder box is probably an ubd statement. I was back there with a garden hose on my hands and knees trying to save it. I could see it running down reporter right now at 6 30, fastmoving flames and a path of destruction left behind from the raging kincade fire in the north bay. Were entering day five of the fire fight and we have Live Team Coverage for you this morning. And thank you for starting your morning with us on today in the bay. Im marcus washington. And im laura garcia. Firefighters working against the clock as wind conditions are expected to taper off this morning but then worsen again. At this time there are more than a dozen fires burning across california. And as weve been telling you, the largest fire is the kincade fire in the north bay. And get this it is as large as seattle. That fire is burned more than 54,000 acres, containment has dropped to 5 . 94 buildings is destroyed and another 80,000 threatened by flames and firefighters believe it will take until november 7th to contain the fire. There are dozens of schools shutting down because of the smoke and Power Outages. We have a full list on nbcbayarea. Com and well continue to run them on the bottom of the screen. And we are tracking new evacuation orders overnight in Sonoma County as the fire continues to spread. Sharon katsuda is near windsor. Sharon, there are still flames burning behind you . Reporter that is right, laura and marcus. And i have to tell you how the weather is and it is good news for firefighters in this area right now. It is very cool with no wind at all. So that is the good news. But take a look. They still are battling the blaze behind me. You could see the warm, the red glow there along the ridgeline and this location is just behind the house that we showed you about an hour and a half ago up the road here on pleasant avenue where they actually saved that house. The firefighters told me that the flames got to the back of the home, the backyard they were able to save the house. They are still fighting this area. Lets take a look at some video from the spot road area at 3 00 this morning. And you could see that the flames were very active in some areas. And affected some structures. But were still trying to get a full report on what kind of damage this fire caused in this area. But cal fire, i just got off the phone and they will not provide more details until 7 00 this morning. So well have to wait to get more specifics but back here live, see that firefighters are still here on scene. This is just east of windsor. But the weather conditions right now look pretty good. Still very active though right behind me. Live near windsor, im Sharon Katsuda, today in the bay. Still raging on. Sharon, thank you. And there is another one raging in Southern California this morning. Dipping into live pictures, this is called the getty fire. It is actually shutting down parts of southbound 405 freeway right now. You know how busy the 405 could get. From valley vista to sunset and we know 12 structures have burned so far. Four homes damaged or destroyed. Over 400 acres consumed already. Evacuations are underway. These are mandatory evacuations for at least 10,000 homes and buildings in that area this morning. It is raging on since weve come on air. It just broke out this morning. It is quickly grown from 100 to 450 acres consumed so far. Andkerri, nonstop with the wind conditions. That same wind that brought the high winds yesterday has moved into Southern California but for us the wind direction has pushed the kincade fire smoke just off the coast. But we will see some changes today. But yesterday we were looking at the satellite view and that smoke was so thick they had to close highway 101 near windsor yesterday as people were trying to evacuate. Just because the visibility was so low and they were trying to get the heavy equipment near that kincade fire. So we are going to see the wind calming down this morning. And shifting direction. And that is going to make it smokey at times. You could see the arrows as they change, they will carry in the smoke into parts of San Francisco, the peninsula, as well as the east bay and eventually down into the south bay later on this evening. And the light nature of the wind will keep that smoke trapped in the valley so it is going to feel a lot more smokey and going to see that smoke in the air today. Make sure youre limiting time outside. As we head over to mike now, youre tracking the flashing lights of the bay bridge. Not a major concern but flashing light and meteoring lights, an earlier crash may have been in lanes but not a problem now as ive been watching for the last few. The backup lighter than your typical monday at the bay bridge toll plause and commute though lighter everywhere even south of the bay bridge are not directly impacted by most of the fire and outage, but we do have the smoke as well kari is talking about and peoples lives disrupted around the bay including the traffic slowing from the north bay across the carquinez bridge. The carquinez bridge is open again after yesterdays shutdown and we have a lighter commute because north bay disrupted by the fire and the kincade fire and the huge evacuation zone. Back to you. Thanks, mike. Well this morning pg e is hoping to restore power to most of the customers before the next windstorm. That set to arrive as soon as tomorrow. But pg e just gave us more information. It looks like even if you have power now, you may not have it later this week. Today in the bay kris sanchez is live with what pg e is telling us so far. Kris . Reporter it is ridiculously still. And you could see the trees not moving at all so none of the winds that triggered the latest round of Power Outages and that is why crews will be able to go out and start inspecting the lines and perhaps start turning the lights back on. Crews expect to see scenes like this, trees down and you might recognize this one. It is a 300yearold oak tree that is the danville town symbol and blocked diablo road and with gusts exceeding 100 miles per hour, there could be extensive damage and for that reason pg e is worried some bay bridge customers might be out even longer including marin, napa, sonoma and solano hardest hit. Here is the pg e map of where the power shutoffs are skill in effect. The pink icons are the psp outages but the green and yellow and orange are where the power is out for some other reason likely weather damage. Now in the last hour or so, pg e told us 445,000 bay bridge customers are still in the dark because of the most recent Public Safety shutoff. That means we have to take extra time and make th make se there is no damage to the equipment or no debris or any kind of hazard laying across the line. Now already pg e is warning of another power outage event coming tomorrow. Weve been bringing that to you all morning long because of the more strong dry winds headed here this week. Tomorrow through wednesday midday, 35 counties are under the warning, including the bay bridge and north bay and santa cruz mountains. So if you havent lost power at this point, you might lose your power in the next round of outages because of the wind event coming now. It is difficult to imagine and a symbol of how quick things could change. Kris sanchez, today in the bay. Thank you. So what kind of conditions can we expect today . Kari hall just updated the forecast. As we take a look at wind quality, we are our air quality, we are going to have some unhealthy air quality into the day as more smoke comes in. Ill have a timeline of that and what to expect. There is as the winds pick up in the forecast again coming up. And we continue to monitor this fire that is burning in l. A. Rapidly growing near the iconic getty museum. These are live pictures from the scene. Coming up next, well tell you about the mandatory evacuations just issued including celebrities lebron james being forced to flee. Hes tweeting about it this morning. Well have the very latest. Also breaking overnight, an arson in the north bay that happened just outside of the wildfire zone. Fire crews are staging near may have saved this from being a worse situation. And a deadly crash involving a train in Contra Costa County. The three tragic deaths were learning about this morning. My parents never taught me anything about managing money. The amount of Student Loan Debt i have, im embarrassed to even say. We just decided we didnt want debt any longer. I didnt realize how easy investing could be. Im Picking Companies that i believe in. I think sofi money is amazing. Thank you sofi. Sofi thank you, we love you. Right now it is 6 42 under a microclimate weather alert. Starting out with some clear skies now but most will drift into the south bay later on today and a chilly start with some mid40s as you head out of the door. Well have a cooler afternoon into the low 60s and 70s and ill have more coming up in less than five minutes. And kari, tracking traffic in palo alto where you see a good volume moving smoothly. 101 open here. And also reopened to the fire zone through the kincade fire but watching as the smoke and the wind may effect that. And we have an issue effecting some b. A. R. T. Lines coming up. And traffic in Southern California could be really bad. They have to shut down the 405 freeway because there is a massive fire burning and calling this the getty fire. 12 structures have burned so far. Four homes damaged or destroyed. It is consumed already over 450 acres and it is grown massively just since the time that weve been on air this morning. There are 10,000 homes and buildings evacuated. Mandatory evacuations underway right now. It is very close to the getty museum in Southern California. Mt. Saint Marys University down there is also evacuated. There is a lot of homes threatened and down in Southern California they are tweeting extensively about lebron james being forced from his own home with his family trying to find a place to go at this point. But as the shot widens out here and hopefully you could get scope of the fire that has been burning since before we came on air. It broke out this morning. They dont know the cause so far. But big emergencies that theyre having down there. There are 12 fires burning across the state of california right now. Just an impact on firefighters here in the state and those who are coming in to help as well. That is right. Because the crews are getting stretched then and there are outside agencies from different parts of the country coming in to help fight these fires in california. We also have more breaking news for you this morning in Sonoma County. Firefighters say an Early Morning fire that destroyed two hom homes near the kincade fire, this is so sad to report, with everything they are up against, theyre finding out this fire was intentionally set. It started a little after midnight at a home on napa road and east 5th street near downtown sonoma luckily nobody was injured but the flame jumped to a neighboring home and because resources are stretched so thin as we mentioned, firefighters had to be called in from the kincade fire staging area to put these homes out and both homes are a total loss. And this time in the east bay. Three people are dead in North Richmond after an actrack train struck the car as it crossed the tracks a little after midnight at the market Avenue Railroad crossing. No one on the amtrak was injured. That train is a coast star line that just left emeryville heading north. Now there are gates at the crossing and authorities do confirm power was on in that area. But so far there is no confirmation about whether the gates were actually down. Quarter to seven now turning to politics, trump attended game five of the world series last night. Where he got a mixed welcome, scott. That is about as polite as we could put it. He was greeted with boos and chants of lock him up. Attending game wife with his wife and entourage of other politicians. He stayed for most of the game as the astros beat the washington nationals. Big weekend for the president. You heard he announced the death of isis creator abu backer al baghdadi who died like a dog, the president said. You know, these people are very smart and theyre not into the use of cell phones any more. Theyre not very technically brilliant. They use the internet better than almost anybody in the world, perhaps other than donald trump. Today Charles Cupperman was supposed to testify in the impeachment inquiry and he has delayed that because hes waiting for a judge to tell him whether or not he should follow the houses order to show up to the impeachment inquiry or the white houses order not to show up to the impeachment inquiry. He is a close associate of john bolton. If he eventually shows up, we expect then bolton may as well. This weekend we passed an important point. 98 days, fewer than 100 until the iowa caucus. Ive leave the coverage of the democrats to others but my job is covering the white house but seemed like toronto po mention. The white house will reveal the halloween decorations today and that is video from last year and this is tradition since eisenhower era and, yes, you can trick or treat at the white house. Were watching everything happening in watch and follow me on scott mcgrew. The Lafayette Tennis Club sad to report is a complete loss after a fire roared through the grounds and ruined fire acres nearby. They have been hosting a youth tennis tournament but the winds caused a transformer to fail and triggered the fire. Everyone quickly evacuated. But a Quick Response from air crews is really being credited with keeping this fire from becoming a whole lot worse. The fire started during the peak of yesterdays gusty winds. Another sad loss. A 150yearold winery in healdsburg and reminder there is no time to waste when firefighters tell you to evacuate. This is what the winery looked like before the fire. This morning its one of more than 90 structures that have been destroyed. Right next to soda rock winery, a different story, people there crediting one mans quick thinking. Jose gonzalez works at a neighboring vineyard and he rigged the rooftops of nearby homes and barns with sprinklers then watched and really worried as the fire races towards them. Have you ever seen a fire jump from that ridgeline over to this side . No. Not in the 30 years ive been sitting here. Youve changed the entire life of probably five to ten families. We did. His idea ended up saving most of the structures there. It is a trick others are now attempting as the fire marches south. But most certainly if you are told to evacuate, that is what you need to do. Weve seen the winds shift in many places and the fire overcomes the area with such smoke it is hard and Everyone Wants to save their houses but it is so difficult. And it takes also the First Responders to have to help the people who are now needing help out when they were asked to leave and it disrupts everything. And the question is how will the weather play a factor in all of this again today . It is starting to improve weather wise but we are still looking at this fire just burning out of control right now. And so we only have a small window before the winds pick up once again. I wanted to show you a look at what were up against right now. This is just to the east of windsor on a mountain called pepperwood west and this is looking at the kincade fire with some very large flames. Im not sure how long this camera is going to be able to hold up because the flames are so close by. And so as we head over to San Francisco, looking really smokey this morning. The smoke is going to get worse as we go throughout the day all because of the winds that are calming down. Were also seeing temperatures plummeting in the north bay. Only a few degrees above freezing in santa rosa and right now in napa it is 41 degrees. We have some upper 30s in san martin and that is what we see when the winds start to calm down under such dry conditions. We do see those temperatures that could go down quite a bit. And then look at how much cooler it is now compared to yesterday at this time. 24 degrees cooler in santa rosa. So it is a chilly start to the day. And we will have some slightly cooler temperatures for the afternoon with highs most of our inland areas reaching into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Lets talk about the wind. Because that is going to be the big story here going into the next couple of days. Our winds coming in from the north and start to change in coming in from the northwest when will bring in the wildfire smoke going into the afternoon to evening hours. Mostly calm wind in the forecast tonight but then will be another front coming in by tomorrow that will cause the winds to start to gust going into tomorrow, late morning in the north bay and the rest of the bay bridge and the east bay into the afternoon to evening hours. So really windy for a short period of time. But im not thinking that it is going to be as strong as the winds we just had over the past 24 hours. This is what is going on. So we have this storm system that passed by that is bringing us gusty winds starting to taper off as it moves away. Another one right behind that and the problem is that we have High Pressure close by so High Pressure and and close proximity to low pressure and it makes the air really rush as it moves from one pressure system to the next. So well see the rushing winds starting up again late tomorrow night and into early wednesday morning. And then once those storm systems move away well be left with High Pressure and some calming winds for the rest of the week. Some slight warming especially by the weekend. So our sevenday forecast shows that it is going to be smokey today. Windy late tomorrow. By wednesday the winds will start to decrease. Halloween is looking good with highs in the low 70s. And some slight warming for the weekend while San Francisco will stay in the 60s all throughout the week. Mike is seeing a different flow of traffic.
