The owner tells me hes going to do it as long as he needs to. Lets talk about now this briefing that we just got out of. It ended 20, 25 minutes ago. The fbi and the police chief following with some more details. Heres what we know. There are seven victims that remain hospitalized. Five of them at valley med in san jose. Two of them at the stanford hospital. We tid mention they found a second gun inside the gunmans car, that car parked just outside the fair grounds here where the garlic festival is. We should note that gun is a shotgun also purchased in the state of nevada, similar to that other gun, the ak47. They dont think another suspect was involved. Thats a big development. We need to add this, there is no reason that the feds are the local authorities believe that the gunman was targeting minorities. We say that because remember on his Instagram Post he did prefer to a communist manifesto and it had some checkered things to say about people of mixed race coming into the silicon valley. We also asked the police chief how those officers are doing who engage with the gunman at the garlic festival. You know, i placed them on administrative leave. I just did not want to put them in a position of having to come back to work and deal with all of this. You know, i think its a very emotional thing for them. Its one thing to be involved in the shooting, but then they were also in the middle of the carnage of the people that were shot and then immediately went into, you know, the rendering aid mode. And those two things combined, i think for anybody, is a very difficult thing to go through. Reporter well said by the police chief. Thats certainly something that we have been looking at in terms of what what bullets kid the individuals other than the shooter. Reporter rosen says regardless of the results of the investigation, he believes that the gunman is ultimately responsible for the deaths. We just wrapped up a press conference with the gilroy police, and i asked police chief scot smithee if it is possible the victims were hit by police gunfire, and he says that was certainly a big concern for him, but there is nothing in the investigation so far that leads him to believe officers bullets hit the victims. I also asked the fbi agent in charge if he thought that the gunman may have been targeting minorities. He said so far in this investigation there is no evidence of that. And as raj mentioned, weve also learned that right now police do not believe that there was a second suspect. And the reason they say that is because apparently this gunman had gone shopping at several stores here in gilroy, including big box stores, and all of that Surveillance Video indicates that he was alone at the time and that was right before the shooting. So thats what we learned so far. Weve also learned that there was a bag with ammunition found in the creek near the festival. That is a New Discovery made by police.
