According to the east bay times the findings say its budget problems is largely due to millions of dollars spent on nonclassroom costs like administrative staff. The spending was about 95 million last year than 37 Bay Area School districts. The Alameda County grand jury recommends cutting the amount and criticizes the district for having a lack of urgency moving forward. The trans Bay Authority made the official announcement yesterday. Starting at 6 00 a. M. On monday, both the Sales Force Transit Center and sales force park will be accessible to the public, but bus service to and from the center will not resume right away. Thats set to start at least one or two weeks after reopening and nearly ten months after the center was first closed due to cracked beams. New details are emerging about a shark attack in the bahamas that killed a Southern California woman. 21yearold jordan lindsey died wednesday after a tiger shark attacked her while she was snorkeling. Someone got an image of the shark taken just before the attack. Thats the picture of it right there. Family members say they saw the shark and tried to warn her. Lindsey is originally from torrance. A lot of damage left behind after a man slammed his vehicle into a popular restaurant in Contra Costa County. Today in the bays bob redell is live at the scene. Bob, what are police saying . Reporter Pleasant Hill police are saying the man who drove his pickup into the sweet tomatoes restaurant had been drinking and driving. When they arrived on the scene vehicle was still on, the tires were still spinning. You see the burned rubber on the sidewalk here. The man was still behind the wheel. As you can see, he was half way into the restaurant. The damaged part of the buffet service and smashed the front window there, the side window of this restaurant. Law enforcement was able to get him safely out of the vehicle. They checked to make sure he wasnt hurt and then they administered a field sobriety test, which they say he failed. The man who is 23 years old and from fresno was arrested on suspicion of dui. The collision did destroy the side windows, but it did not take down the restaurant itself. We did hear from the restaurant, they say once they get this repaired, they will be able to open at their normal 11 00 a. M. Opening time this friday morning. Again no one was hurt but the 23yearold man from fresno arrested for suspicion of dui. Reporting in Pleasant Hill live, bob redell, today in the bay. San rafael police are showing off a mask and a gun they say officers found inside a car driven by 29yearold adam workman of benicia. He was wanted in connection to an Armed Robbery in concord, and police say he led officers on a chase along interstate 580 yesterday afternoon. Hes also accused of jumping from his car to try to carjack another vehicle but officers tackled him and arrested him. More fireworks during part two of the democratic debate in miami. New details on the search for a missing university of utah student originally from Southern California. Mackenzie louek disappeared 11 days ago. Police in Salt Lake City say they are making progress. Activity in the southern portion of the map, northbound 680 approaching jacklyin, the mini golf course off to the shoulder ands slowing blocked by a fire crew. There was smoke from a fire near one of the houses, but it sounds like everything is getting knocked down quickly and weve seen no slowing, losing one lane but traffic is light as well as the rest of the bay. The other incident southbound 101 at hellier has two lanes blocked but slowing northbound for the commute and doesnt sound like major injuries but there are some reports. Well track it. First Senate Action going on right now, senate in session, actually began very unusually early this morning, holding a vote on requiring President Trump to seek congressional approval for any military strikes against iran. If the president doesnt seek that approval, they will withhold any funds. The senate has been holding this vote open and plans to hold it open for several more hours so the Democratic Senators returning from the debate last night can take part. As you mentioned, the house now has approved a 4. 6 billion aid package to ease the suffering at the southern border. It wasnt an easy vote. In eastern Contra Costa County, leaders are asking you to turn in any illegal fireworks. The east contra costa Fire Protection district is hosting its first ever fireworks Amnesty Program. That means you can turn in your fireworks without any penalty. Fire marshal says this year, there will be no leniency for anyone caught lighting any fireworks.
