About how cold it is this morning and even a little bit of some rain moving through parts of the bay area and that is helping to keep us a little bit milder and just above freezing in many spots. As were seeing a lot of green here in San Francisco, down toward pacifica and also in burlingame, san mateo, sprinkles this morning, watch out for that as you head out for your drive. Temperatures now in the mid 40s. Its not only cold but it is getting soggy in parts of the bay area so i will be tracking that. Mike, you now have a Traffic Alert for a motorcycle crash. I do. We talked about the crash on the upper east shore freeway, i said i would give it a few minutes for chp to give us more detail. From san jose into San Francisco both sides of the bay look great. A slower lighter build on both sides of the bay but over here westbound your commute direction at pinole valley road reports of a motorcycle down and the rider may be still down in lanes. So this is a big concern. Only the fast lane is currently blocked, but more emergency crews arrive over the next few minutes and we see slowing coming into the area starting right about highway 4. Thats where we bring up our speed sensors, 22, almost 25 minutes getting from there over toward the bay bridge. It will build. We will track that, guys. For now back to you. It is 6 02. Its hard to believe but today marks exactly one year since the devastating coyote creek flooding that happened in the south bay. Do you remember all this . Reporter good morning, laura. Yes, all that muck that was covering these streets is gone, the submerged cars towed away and those letter xs that the rescuers spray painted on the apartments and duplexes they for the most part have been painted over but the rock springs neighborhood is not what it used to be. A number of people who were here when this area flooded a year ago have not returned to their homes. Carmen is one person who did decide to stick around in spite of what she experienced when the Anderson Reservoir and coyote creek flooded her neighborhood on february 21st of last year the water moved so fast the Fire Department had to rescue had err in waters that was four feet deep in places. Her apartment still bears some of the water marks. She relied on sacred heart to replace her belongings with money from a 7 Million Victims Fund and insurance paid her back for her submerged car. Carmen, however, is worried about the next time we get a heavy rain season. I hope they get that creek cleared out so the water runs smoother, otherwise we are in trouble again. Reporter the Santa Clara ValleyWater District which mansion Anderson Reservoir has installed new barriers where coyote creek borders the rock springs neighborhood. The district says that that metal structure would protect these people from a flood of the same size. Later this morning, 11 00, the district, the city, county, state and army corps of engineers will hold a News Conference to discuss what else is being done to prevent flooding.
