Reporter the russia investigation still hanging over the president as he prepares for his first state of the Union Address. Aides say the often combative president will focus on compromise and immigration, a path to citizenship for young people brought to the u. S. As children and now here illegally. A tough sell to his own party. Those here illegally, we should not be granting a path to citizenship. That is wrong. And inconsistent to the promises we made. Reporter part of the immigration deal will include spending 25 billion on a wall along the mexican border. With Approval Ratings at historic low levels, the president will argue his tax cuts and economic policies are benefiting all americans. Jennifer johnson, nbc news, washington. As we just heard, imdwrags reform expected to be a major focus of the president s state of the union speech. Weve got a problem in this case because we have a president whose credibility is suspect. Subjecting 800,000 d. R. E. A. M. Ers to deportation, including 25,000 in my own city of san jose, telling them they have nothing to worry about. And then deciding this week that they can be liberated with a 25 billion ransom. That democrats will have to pay in order to build a wall that nobody seems to believe is terribly useful. This is the kind of lack of credibility thats undermined this administration from day one. Back to that story we told you about. A water main break causing big problems on the campus of San Jose State University. Some students forced out of their room. Thom jensen at the scene a few minutes ago. Whats going on now . Reporter we just got on campus and this happened about an hour and a half ago here in San Jose State University campus. Were by the Student Union building right here and it started, this water main break, about three blocks away, all the way down there by the Campus Village number two. Thats a lot of toedormitoriedo student housing. We were able to get this video from gentlemen who were on campus after this broke. You can see the waterspouting out of that water main break. From the video we showed you just seconds ago live, you can tell how much water that put on the campus here. This has got to be at least three blocks wide. Theres a number of buildings its pushing up against. We do not know if theres actually any water inside the building, the classrooms or Student Union are flooded inside. There is a construction site down at the other end. A new student sport facility, aquatic center. That construction site could be flooded. No buildings in there flooded, however. This was quite alarming for students who were here today. I talked to one young man whos a student who rides his bike on campus every weekend and he rode onto campus just after 4 30 today and this is what he says about running into this mess. I came here about a 5 00 and it really started gushing out and it just started spreading through the entire campus. It finally got to here. I think they got it shut down. Seems like its going down a little now. But, no, its a lot of water for sure. Its a total of three blocks, honestly. Its gone a long ways. And i went through it not knowing how for the water had gotten. I definitely regretted that. Reporter back live now, you can see that Campus Police have put up these barricades. Even after they got these barricades up, weve seen students coming out of the buildings and running into this. They do have this blocked off for now. Campus security has want been able to tell us how long they expect this to happen. As far as we know at the other end of campus here, that water is still coming up from the water main. Theyve been trying to get people on the weekend to come in and fix that. Well try to get new images on that side of the campus tonight. Thom jensen, nbc bay area news.
