The day. For tomorrow, nice and quiet, up to 70 degrees in San Francisco, a chance of showers on wednesday and fall begins friday. Then a look at what happens after that. It warms up. The inland area will feel like summer this weekend. We have several more days of shower chances and cooler temperatures. Ill talk more about that coming up. Mike has an update on the jam through dublin. Its getting longer. Well look at the map, the earlier crash cleared to the bay shore freeway, slowing past 680, toward 880. We are jammed off the dublin interchange over to eden canyon road. The tow truck just arrived. Hopefully load it on the flat bed. We saw it change from red to orange. We have better sensor reads. Well track that closely otherwise problems out of the trivalley. Over here, this is a slower drive, second crash of the morning. Jammed up off sbds 242 off west highway 4. This is a problem but keeps the walnut interchange moving smoothly. The east shore freeway, 26 minutes from highway 4 to the plaza. Back to you. Thanks, mike. We are on top of breaking news out of new york that started an hour ago. We brought it to you as live pictures. The tour bus and mta bus crashed in queens. One person has died, 17 hurt and so far, we know seven are in critical condition. Investigators are saying there may be more victims inside the debris of that crash. A lot of Emergency Personnel you see on the scene there evaluating the situation. Investigating how this even happened. We are following a developing story out of the south bay where fors in gilroy are investigating a fire that broke out at a Salvation Army truck. Bob redell is live to explain why firefighters say this fire is considered suspicious. Good morning, bob. Reporter good morning. You can see behind me, in the past two minutes they pulled this trailer out. They are doing overhaul on those these donated clothes. They are sorting through it to make sure there is nothing that would catch fire. The clothes are a loss and will represent a lost income. There are a couple reasons why gilroy fire think this is fire is suspicious. One, there was another suspicious fire at a loading dock six months ago in the back of a home goods store. That fire not resolved. A major with the Salvation Army says people have broken into the trailer a number of times before to steal clothes, sometimes using a candle to light the way. He wonders if that is what happened this morning. The fire started around 2 00. The trailer was parked in the loading dock of the salvation store, an army store located near 152 and 101. It benefits the arms drug and alcohol rehab program. The two alarm fire contained by 3 00 and knocked down by 4 00. The fire will cost them about 5,000 in lost income. Step back for us. We dont like it. It hurts us, especially when we are trying to do the most good with it, to have somebody damage it hurts us. Reporter the fire did char the back of the building. If you want to come back out here live where the Fire Department is taking a look at the damage to the backside of the building. A fire sprinkler went off inside and kept the flames from extending into the interior, thats good news. Surveillance cameras are out here. The Fire Department or the investigator will be looking at to see if it captured anybody out here early this morning when the fire started. The Salvation Army does belief the store will be closed for a couple days to try to clean up the water damage inside. Bob redell, today in the bay. A loss for them. Thats too bad, bob. At 6 05, San Francisco Police Investigating an apparent double shooting. It happened this morning between 17th and 18th in the mission district. An officer at the scene would only say two people were shot. There was no indication on the severity of their injuries. The shooter has not been arrested. 6 05. Happening today, new information is expected to be revealed on the deadly officer shooting. A press Conference Held later today. Police shot and killed jacob dominguez. He was a known gang member, likely carrying a gun. He led police on an erratic chase earlier in the day. They were trying to conduct the vehicle stop on dominguez with a felony for armed robbery. The police were not in marked cars. Unrest in st. Louis. Police say they arrested 80 people last night after a third day of protests. We have live pictures to show you, just into our news room of an overhead view. Protesters, we understand, are now forming their locking arms in the street. The demonstrations are in the e quital of the shooting death of a black man a. Crowd of 100 broke windows. Some officers were slightly hurt. Here is the mayor. The vast majority of protesters are nonviolent, but, for the third day in a row, the nights have been the days have been calm and the nights have been destructive. Police saying some two dozen businesses in a popular suburban shopping district have been vandalized. Live to washington, d. C. As President Trump is away from the white house right now. He is back at home in new york this morning. He spent the night at trump tower and now he has full day of meetings with the United Nations followed by a speech tomorrow. The president has been very critical of the United Nations, as a candidate, as president. He said that they are not in line with democracy, hes questioned whether the money that the u. S. Spends to fund the United Nations, almost a quarter of the budget is worth it. They sit around and dont do a lot. Now, the president gets an opportunity to address the General Assembly tomorrow. Mending fences, as a candidate, President Trump called the United Nations weak, incompetent, not a friend of democracy. Now, he needs the u. N. To deal with north korea. Hes going to address the threats of north korea, iran, terrorism, global terrorism. The United Nations has fallen short. He wants to motivate them. Reporter u. N. Sanss to stop the missile tests hasnt worked. They say they need more time. All countries, everyone to do all they can to enforce those sanctions. 90 of north koreas trade is being cut off. So, we have economically strangled north korea at this point. If that doesnt work, general mattis will take care of it. Reporter the unpopular military option. The emphasis has to be on missile defense. Reporter getting china to cut off north koreas oil. We should put more pressure on china. China can do more. Happening today, a group of oakland a backers plan for a new stadium. The as announced an agreement on a privately financed stadium not far from where College Administrative offices sit. Theres no timetable on the plan. They are talking ability it today in downtown oakland. Employment growth in Silicon Valley is slowing. They looked at government data. They added 30,000 jobs in the second half of 2016. Recent layoffs at sysco, hp and oracle may slow the growth. Unemployment reach add low of 2. 8 in may of 2017. It is possible facebook executives may have to explain themselves to congress. Adam schiff, the mi yorty leader said he would like to see facebook testify in the investigation into russian interference with the 2016 election. We knew facebook was cooperating with special counsel robert mueller. Facebook told us there. Mueller had warrants and has seen the ads placed by russians during the campaign. Facebook says russians and Russian Companies placed 100,000 worth of targeted ads on facebook during the campaign, not promoting trump, but emotional topics like gun control or race relations. It is believed the russians may have had specific data about who to target with those ads, gleaned, perhaps, from election data. Where they got that data is a major part of the investigation. Facebook has been trying to crackdown on articles people share with each other, a big turn around for the company. Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg said the idea facebook affected the election is a crazy idea. The dow comes off the best week of the year. Last week, several records set. Look out for the feds. As we go into this afternoon, a cool start but here is a look at where we are headed. Up to 78 degrees in morgan hill. The seven day forecast is now coming up at the bottom of the screen starting out in the south bay. Walnut creek up to 78 degrees and 70 in oakland for the peninsula. We are going to see the highs up to 72 in san carlos. The mission district, 67. Mostly cloudy, well get some sunshine in the north bay. Sonoma 79 degrees. If you are golfing in halfmoon bay or hiking along the trails, near the coastline, we are going to have the low clouds and fog, maybe misting and drizzling for a while. Then we see the sun peeking out and well have a mostly Sunny Afternoon with temperatures Holding Steady in the mid60s. Napa valley, expect the upper 60s. With the sunshine, we make it up to 76 degrees. Well be tracking a chance of showers in the forecast by wednesday with a cold front mainly to the north of us. There will be a slight chance of rain in San Francisco and areas to the north, then slightly cooler on thursday. If you can believe it, friday it will be the first day of fall. Well be at 68 degrees and then temperatures start warming up. As we head into fall, it is going to feel more like summer inland. We will have cool weather for the rest of this week. Now we have more traffic coming through the walnut creek interchange and no problems expect more at the bay bridge where the metering lights are on. A little recovery for 580 off the dublin bridge. Oh, yellow to green right there. Waze has been tracking an alternate route for you. They are saying take 580. The area is going to be five to ten minutes slower than snaking back and forth. Cu the family of the georgia tech student who was shot and killed by Campus Police this weekend will hold a news at 6 24, happening today, the family of a student shot and killed by a Campus Police will hold a news conference. 21yearold Scout Schultz was president of Pride Alliance at the university. Video taken by a witness, schultz can be heard yelling, shoot me. Police asked him to drop a knife several times, but he wouldnt do it. When he stepped forward with the knife, the officer shot and killed him. He was going up to the Police Officer. The Police Officer was backing up. The Police Officer couldnt back up anymore. As the guy approached more, the Police Officer fired the weapon and he dropped to the ground. The family is asking why they failed to use nonlethal force for the encounter. Also developing this morning, police in the east bay looking for a man accused of running over two Police Officers. We find Sharon Katsuda live this morning with new information about what we are learning about those officers. Good morning. Reporter good morning, laura and marcus. I spoke to a Police Officer this morning. One officer was treated and released. The other is still in the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. This all happened late last night around 9 00 at the greenhouse marketplace shopping sent ner san leandro near washington avenue. Around 8 30, someone from the Safeway Store called officers to the parking lot about a shoplifting suspect who was carrying bottles. An officer tried to contact him and he got into his car. The subject was able to start his vehicle, put it in gear and drive away with the officer still in the doorway of the vehicle. Both officers sustained injuries from the vehicle running them over. Both officers are at the hospital right now being treated. As soon as he backed up, the guy officer got hurt. He fell on his knees. I dont know if he got run over or fell on his knees or what because he couldnt get up. Reporter the suspect drove off. Police are still looking for him. They have not released a description, but tell us, he was driving a sedan. Police are trying to see if there is surveillance video. If you have information call the police department. Quick thinking may have saved her life and save her from being mugged on that train. Julie was on the train from dublin city saturday. She says someone dropped a note on her lap. That note claimed someone was pointing guns at her and demanded she hand over her valuables. She pretended as if she was having a seizure. So, like if i fake a seizure or fake im passing out, im not not complying. Im scared and reacting. She says shes not sure it was valid. Bart is looking into the incident. Several stories about crime on bart. Here is what we know if you are planning to ride bart. Bart says officers are being deployed to hot spots. The agency is working to hire more officers. Five people were arrested and kould appear in court this week. A total of nine were arrested when he spoke on campus. Most were carrying banned weapons near the event according to police. There is expected to be larger protest for berkeleys free speech. The student arguization behind the event failed to reserve a venue on time. A commentator, former white house chief strategist steve bannon and ann coulter are scheduled to speak. They have not confirmed they are xwou going to attend. Flooded cars are soon to hit the used car market. We dont want you to get taken avantage ov. We asked kris sanchez what to look for to make sure you dont get a hurricane damaged car. Reporter if you are in the market for a used car, there are things you can do yourself. Sniff around to see if theres a smell of mildew or mold. Thats an obvious sign. Feel for wet upholstery or carpeting. We talked to a Service Consultant who walked us through what else to look for. There are telltale signs like rust in the doorjambs, brittle electrical wiring. While on the surface, a car might be detailed and looking sharp, water can compromise the safety in Electrical Systems and leave you stalled on the freeway. You can imagine what happens after that. San jose city attorneys will meet to discuss hundreds of claims made by victims of february coyote creek flooding. Close to 400 claims have been filed. More than 18 million in damage. There will be a chance of snow on thursday as well as friday. An investigation is continuing on why a trailer went up in flames overnight. You can see almost nothing is salvageable there. A trailer sits behind 152 and 101 behind a Salvation Army store. Officials say people have broken into the trailer several times to steal clothes. There was a similar incident six months ago. Gilroy fire Officials Say this blaze is suspicious. Also, tomorrow, the president s lawyers speak to the Senate Committee investigating the russian meddling into the election. The New York Times reports this morning, one white house lawyer, ty cobb is worrying about documents and thinks they should be turned over to the white house counsel. Ken vogel says he overheard trumps lawyers loudly discussing those documents over a steak at a restaurant near the white house. Was that reporter ease dropping . He didnt need to. San Francisco Police investigating an apparent double shooting that happened this morning between 17th and 18th in the mission district. Officers at the scene would only say two people were shot. No indication of the severity of the injuries. The shooter has not been arrested. A live look where the search is on for a man who reportedly ran over two officers after shoplifting from a nearby grocery store. The past couple hours, Sharon Katsuda reported one officer is out of the hospital. The other has nonlife threatening injuries. The search continues for whoever ran them over from a safeway. They have not released the suspect description, but he was driving a sedan. Happening today, new information is expected to be revealed this afternoon on the deadly officer involved shooting in san jose. A press conference will be held later today after police shot and killed dominguez. Police say he was a known gang member, likely carrying a gun. They say he led police on an erratic chase earlier in the day. Officers were trying to conduct a vehicle stop and dominguez who had a felony for armed robbery. The police were not in uniform or marked cars. Unrest in st. Louis. Police arrested at least 80 people after a third day of protest in response to the acquittal of a white Police Officer charged in the shooting death of a black man. Some officers were slightly hurt.
