This time for violating the gag order with a statement he made about the jury implying its noted fair. The judge fined trump 1,000 but said the fines dont appear to be working and he threatedened to throw him in jail. Donald trump comes back to new york after he came from florida, mocking Fulton County District Attorney fani willis over a romance that forced another off the Georgia Election case and describing special counsel jack smith. In new york he is charged with falsifying Business Records related to a hush payment to stormy daniels. The jury will soon have a look at the ledger that characterized the payment as a Legal Expense which prosecutors said was trumps way of concealing it from voters. The defense has said trump wanted to protect his family, noted his campaign. But on friday his loyal aide, hope hicks testified, i think mr. Trumps opinion was it was better to be dealing with it now and that it would have been bad to have that story come out before the election. At that point hicks broke down in tears. Trump watching from the defense table. The judge calling for a break. On crossexamination, hicks said trump didnt want anyone in his family to be hurt or embarrassed by anything that was happening on the campaign. The morning the wall street published a story about the payoff of Karen Mcdougal hicks testified trump was concerned it would be viewed by his wife and wanted me to make sure the newspapers werent delivered to their residence that morning. Did he also ask you whether you thought it was likely to affect the campaign, hicks was asked . She responded everything we talked about was about whether or not there was an impact on the campaign. Columbia officially canceling its University Wide Graduation Ceremony continuing with smaller scale celebrations. At depaul university, duelling protests as pro israeli counter protesters met with pro palestinian demonstrators. Dozens of officers lining the divide between both sides. Guys . George thank you very much. Now our abc news exclusive. A 9yearold boy saved his parents when their truck crashed during a tornado. We spoke to him and his father. Lara has the story. Hey, lara. Lara an unbelievable story, george. Your family truck crashes. You see that your parents are trapped inside and injured. It would have been understandable to be frozen in fear because they were in the middle of a tornado. Instead this little boy acted quickly and saved their lives. I was really, really scared. Reporter this morning 9yearold Branson Baker dubbed a hero after helping save his parents lives when they were caught in an ef4 tornado. We got a tornado lara the storm tearing through oklahoma april 27th. Branson and his parents racing for safety, driving to their friends storm shelter. We could pretty much see the tornado within about a mile, two miles from us. As we turned, the tornado turned itself. Lara the tornado uprooting a tree hitting the bakers truck full force trapping wayne and lindy, but branson able to escape running over a mile to get help. Soon as i went to go get help i said, dont die. Branson sprung into action really quick. He is a very courageous son. For a 9yearold boy, not many adults would have done what he did. Lara waynes brother johnny was on the phone with family as the collision happened. About that time you start hearing some beating on the glass, maybe hail. Then the phone went violent. Lara johnny rushing to the scene, calling 911. First responders arriving and branson returning from help. Wayne now recovering from back, neck and arm injuries. His wife lindy still in the hospital. Its little bransons heroic acts in the spotlight doing everything for his mom and dad. Couldnt be more proud to be the father of a son that can accept a challenge that way. Shows that he would go above and beyond for anyone. Lara agree. What a brave little boy. Branson plays baseball. He had a game the day after his parents were injured. The former special prosecutor in the Georgia Election interference case was forced to resign over his relationship with fani willis. Linsey davis sat down with him. Linsey he had a lot to get off his chest after spending 800 days on this prosecution of donald trump, he was forced to resign after a judge wrote a scathing opinion regarding his romantic relationship with the District Attorney that was made public. We talk about a lot of things including what wade does and does not regret. I want people to know the real me. Linsey for the First Time Since leaving the case, nathan wade is speaking out with his relationship with fani willis which forced his resignation from one of the biggest high profile legal battles in u. S. History. Work place romances are as american as apple pie. It happens to everyone. But it happened to the two of us. Linsey do you regret it . I regret that that private matter became the focal point of this very important prosecution. This is a very important case. I hate that my personal life has begun to overshadow the true issues in the case. Linsey the relationship created a whirl wind of distraction in the indictment of former President Trump and 18 others for alleged election interference. Some of whom have taken plea deals, while others, including trump, have pleaded not guilty. Attorneys for some of the defendants argue wade and willis actions disqualify them from trying the case, filing a mowing against the prosecutors and revealing the romance to the public. A Washington Post columnist wrote, what were they thinking . How could two seasoned attorneys embroiled in the prosecution of a president start a romance and not see trouble coming a mile away. What were you thinking in that moment . You know, again, you dont plan to develop feelings. You dont plan to fall in love. You dont plan to have some relationship in the work place. You dont set out to do that. Those things develop organically. They develop over time. And the minute we had that sobering moment, we discontinued it. Linsey for nearly one month after news of their relationship broke, neither prosecutor acknowledged it publicly. So for 25 days we didnt hear from you or District Attorney willis. Youre a public servant, getting paid by the state of georgia. Why not say, okay, well make a statement, get on top of this . Let me say this. My conversation here with you today is just that. Its nathans conversation. I do not speak for the District Attorneys office. I do not speak for their position. As a matter of fact, i am certain that they would rather me not be having this exchange with you. With that, i want to continue to protect the integrity of this prosecution. I dont want to say or do anything that would jeopardize this case. Linsey the judge required wade to withdraw if willis wanted to stay on the case and ultimately determined that while georgia law does noted permit the finding of an actual conflict for simply making bad choices, wade and willis action showed a tremendous lapse in judgment and created a significant appearance of impropriety. Do you think that youve done any kind of damage to this case . None at all. Linsey even the Public Perception of it . There again, this takes me back to the initial statement that i made. My private life became the focal point of the case. My private life has nothing to do with the merits of that prosecution. Linsey one aspect wade said he wasnt prepared for was the intense public scrutiny and harassment he said hes faced. You didnt realize when you took the case your life was going to be under a microscope. I did not realize that my life would be in danger. The microscope, i dont have a problem with. The truth is, you know, the worst that you could find was the fact that i had a relationship with someone or that i happened to be going through a divorce. Thats okay. Thats okay. I have nothing to hide. Linsey some of the attacks have come from the former president himself. Is there any part of you that regrets that you gave him any aspect to say, oh, you have to question the credibility of this case because of the relationship between fani willis and nathan wade . So, while i will concede, ms. Davis, that the relationship did not happen in ideal timing, i dont think that anything that occurred during the course of the relationship should cause question as it would relate to the sufficiency of the indictment, as it would relate to evidence that was uncovered, may or may not be presented at trial. Linsey as of now there is no trial date set and it is unclear that donald trump for his codefendants will go to court in georgia before election day. But wade is confident the case will move forward. Theres going to be that day of reckoning where a Fulton County jury there in Fulton County, georgia, would have to make that decision. Linsey now one thing wade says he does regret is the impact the scandal has had on his adult children. He wants people to know that he was separated at the time of the relationship with fani willis and that he has total confidence in the prosecution of this case against trump moving forward. At least 200 high water rescues when up to two feet of rain fell in less than a week. Theyre going to be dwindling that rain potential, but also the rivers take time to recede. The flooding will slowly go away. Lets talk about oklahoma here. We are ahead of what will likely be a high risk something oklahoma hasnt seen for about three, four years. Its rare to get a high risk. You have to be underground to survive the types of tornados that will happen. This is a personal shelter. Thats all it takes a small space under ground to survive these intense long track tornados. When we say long track, we mean on the ground for a long time. So wichita, norman, ft. Sill, Oklahoma City, we anticipate this area to see the bump up. Boy it covers a large area. Indiana, cincinnati. Then eventually wednesday, robin, we get another storm and another risk. Her family and friends want to know what happened to her. We spoke to one of her friends who said she was texting with mica the night before her death. This morning questions growing around the unexpected death of the South Carolina pastors wife. Theres got to be some accountability here. Eva 30yearold mica miller was found dead at a state park in North Carolina about an hour north of where she lived in myrtle beach. Authorities opening an investigation into her death, but saying the community is not in danger. She was the greatest wife anyone could ask for. Eva her husband, a pastor, announcing her death after preaching last week saying, it was selfinduced. Authorities have not confirmed or released a cause of death. Justice for mica eva some Community Members protesting outside the church sunday, this as micas friends and family dont think she took her own life. We were talking about coming to church sunday. Getting help with a car payment. Just life stuff. Moving forward. Reporter clark saying mica was planning to get a divorce. She filed once before in october 2023. That case consensually dismissed in february. In march, mica posting, please share this with anyone struggling with leaving a dangerous situation. God hates divorce because it hurts people. I wanted to ask you, maria is not with us today because shes busy doing what she does for us. But you are here. Would you share what that experience meant to you and the experience of helping maria become a mom . I mean, it was absolutely validating. It was amazing. I do this type of work with joy and to get that love back was just phenomenal. I was grateful. I love maria. Lara very special lady. Amazing. Robin oh, 2020. We all remember 2020 the pandemic. These three right back there, they were health care workers. They are also related. We have ashley, her sister joy, their cousin. Two of you are empty nesters and one just started a new business. Okay. Tell us about the empty nesters then the business. Well, ill tell you, its bitter and sweet. We are so proud of them, first of all. We got them settled into college. Theyre doing very well. We are just enjoying each other and traveling and having date nights. Robin oh. Nice. And i tucked my daughter in at Hampton University in virginia. [ applause ] but we have made it. I have taken on the hobbies that i paid for her to have. [ laughter ] piano lesson, golf, and spending time with my wonderful husband. Robin and the new business you have. Yes, new business. Im not an empty nester yet. My son is 7. I have got a ways to go. My husband and i started a Real Estate Investment company. Rh investment group. So were buying sixer uppers and flipping homes. So the twins are now 2 1 2. They are funky and energetic and wild 2 1 2yearolds. Theyre doing great. Our lives, were still very close. Our lives though took a very exciting turn. Ill let erika share. We have a surprise. A couple months after the twins were born i got pregnant. Thats what everybody says. I was like, no. It does happen. So, yeah, i have a 13monthold. I feel extremely honored to be parted of film history. These movies have been going since 1968 which is crazy. Reporter shes numbered nova. Her character may knows more than she lets on. Its a fun journey i get to take her on. Her journey is almost like a metaphor of mankind. She starts out pretending to be feral. I have a name. Reporter mays skill set and bravery stunning the apes then aiding them as they seek to take down caesar. Every ape on screen the product of motion capture technology. Its method is one of kingdoms few on screen human she was often acted with guys clad in gear or by herself. The scenes where im being tugged along i had to tug myself. Theres a scene where an ape comes up to me and i have to do it on my own. Imagine he was coming up to me. It was bizarre. Like full on imagination. Thank god i have an actor next to me even though they look like a weirdo. But, yeah, it was bizarre. Reporter she revels in mixing it up on screen and getting more than just her hands dirty. It was just the relationship between these two people. Well, its not the people. Ai and myself. I get kind of stuck in this robot, in this ai. I am kind of disconnected. My character is disconnected kind of. Hasnt let anybody in. Doesnt trust ai, doesnt trust people. Little by little this ai kind of chips away at her. Chips away at her soul. It was me and this green screen the whole time for seven weeks. It was like a one woman show by myself. Now youre falling through the bridge. [ laughter ] now youre doing this do you know what i mean . Its coming at you, and theres nothing. It was all this imagination. I thought to myself when i read this, this going to be easy. Me by myself. No other actors to deal with. Ill be in and out. Ill be fast. Then at the end of the day i was so exhausted because my adrenaline. I had to do it all by myself. Your adrenaline and everything. Like life and death situations. At the end of the day i said i had that tired limp. [ laughter ] you know . You dont have a limp but youre tired. Exhausting. You dont want to see me cry again. I was scrolling on tik tok. I noticed a few videos of my butt that had gone viral. At first i was laughing. Im like, these people aint right. No matter what size you are, you are beautiful. Being a woman in Country Music can be tough. Cma award for album of the year for female vocalist of the year. Entertainer of the year.
