This was post ed by s by s by sy supervisor saying that the states Public Health officer told her they will move to the purple tier today and they may be calling for a curfew later this week. Nail salons and hair salons can still stay open. Originally when this was created this reopening plan, they were not allowed to reopen in the purple tier. The supervisor who made the Facebook Post said private parties and gatherings where masks are not worn is the cause for the increase in covid cases. She said religious gatherings are the second largest cause. She says she knows people are tired of this but that we all need to do our part so the community can stay healthy and so businesses can stay open. College students planning their return trips home. The number of covid19 cases surging all across the country. So we asked a dozen anonymous travelers at sfo yesterday if they plan on following that advisory. We promised not to show faces to get honest answers. Heres what we heard. Do yyou plan to quarantine . I do. Are you aware youre being advised to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival . I was not aware of that. Nobody told you . So the guy you just heard from tell kris reyes flat out no say he cannot quarantine because he will travel again in five days. Unless hes on essential travel thats the travel activity state Health Officials are asking you to try to avoid. Other people said they just had not heard of the advisory yet. United calls it the first free transatlantic covid19 testing Pilot Program. The airline is offering free tests for every passenger on select flights from newark to london. The anyone who does not want to be tested will be put on another flight. The airline says this ensures that everyone on the flight will have tested negative before takeoff. The Pilot Program will run through december 11th. You get to london and you have to quarantine and nothing is open, so friend. I dont know why you would do that. The spike in coronavirus cases is increasing the demand for testing here in the bay area. Some testing sites in San Francisco are now reaching capacity. Hundreds waited for hours in their cars for a covid test. The lines grew longer into the night. Likewise in the bay area, where you could wait days to get an appointment. There are 19 cityrun testing sites in San Francisco like this one here at pier 30 on the embarcadero. With the surge in covid cases many are reaching capacity. The lines are getting longer and longer. Reporter the Health Committee chairman from the Latino Task Force says demand is unbelievably high at this test site in the mission. Recently 500 people are getting tested every day. We are here to service the Latino Community but not exclusive to and so we take care of the folks that show up that need that test. We need a vast amount of low barrier testing sites throughout San Francisco, easy access, sameday walkup in all the neighborhoods, where we know that there is an increase in cases. San francisco currently does more testing than any other city in the nation. Deputy Health Director dr. Navina baba says the city is doing more than 5,000 tests per day. Many who are lining up are not high priority. People exposed or have symptoms or essential workers. If people have other reasons to get tested they could go to your primary doctor.
