Bay area counties range from the best to the worst among the color coded coronavirus restriction tiers. San francisco is the only in the best category, yellow but preemptively going to shut down indoorining friday night as a precaution. Yesterday contra costa and santa cruz moved backwards from orange to red. A spike in new cases in napa county has Health Officials worried and for very good reason. Those numbers are rapidly moving in the wrong direction and could send napa county from the orange tier to the state most restrictive purple tier if things dont turn around. I am 95 plus years old. I enlisted in the Naval Reserve on december 7th, 1942. A year after pearl harbor. I was 17. I was just like most teenagers, you know. I was interested in what the world was going to be like. At the time of world twar ii every male of my age thought we had to enlist and fight for our country. Very strong sense of patriotism. I got orders to go to the island of okinawa. I retired in 1969 after 27 years in the reserve, and i was at the rank of captain. Im grateful for the life that ive been given. The experience i had in the tnay provided a structure for my life. It gave you a way to look at each day so you didnt just throw away one day after another. You had a purpose each day. Fantastic.
