Live doppler 7 picking up on the fog, the dense fog advisory through about 9 00, not as foggy as its been the past couple days but check out oakland over a mile is not great and a mile and a half in petaluma, a mile on the coast, six miles by the delta. Temperatures from the low to mid50s in the north bay to near 60 in brentwood. The reds indicate the unhealthy air once again, our spare the air alert. Onshore flow is with us, we need for it to strengthen today and as it does, it should help out in small amounts as we get looking bett. County Sheriffs Office says shot two of its deputies in the head in an apparent ambush. Officials say the deputies are currently fighting for their lives. They were parked outside a transit station in compton. Officials say both were shot multiple times and underwent surgery. Both graduated from the academy 14 months ago. Well have more details on this developing story coming up in a few minutes. Back here in the bay area, happening today, football is back. The 49ers are scheduled to play the Arizona Cardinals in the Season Opener at levis stadium but the nfl is closely monitoring the air quality index for this afternoons kickoff. If the aqi is above 200 for a consistent amount of time, the game could be postponed to a later time today, move to tomorrow or other options will be explored. People who are suffering are the reason ive been fighting so hard to clean the air and to open these Clean Air Centers. Which is expected to worsen in the time ahead so we need to make sure we are prepared to have all of our community be protected. I absolutely am frustrated that it took the administration this long to open something up. We cant abandon people to suffer in these situations. Reporter nestled on a little lake in butte county the camp was a refuge for children affected by cancer. It feels so sad that memori has just been so scarred. Reporter this week, the north complex burned through the camp which jany dawes five children have all attended her youngest, eva, diagnosed with a rare lung tumor when she was six months old. So many children have scars and okaisu now has its scars. The place might be gone right now, but the people definitely arent. Reporter for ana and other kids whose siblings have cancer. It helped me understand that theres other people going through this and that we need to go through it together. Reporter etha is 8, cancer free and a threeyear veteran camper. I love swimming there. I also love, i also love the camp fires, those are really fun. Reporter but because the cancer is genetic, every three months she has scans, blood draws and treatments. She says okaizu allows her to feel something important between all the visits to the doctor. We pretend were normal. It was such an important and magical place for so many people for such a long time. Reporter dr. Mike amalon is a Pediatric Oncologist at stanford. Kids now camp every summer, many of them his patients. It completely changed the relationshiphakth rvous and frightened. Reporter the camp is free for all families, and dr.
