And joe biden trading fire on the hot button issues of race and faith. Economic crisis, new jobs numbers out following another week of staggering jobless claims and the latest on the negotiations over the relief bill. Is it on the brink of collapse . Pot peril . The american haef heart associa sounding the alarm. How marijuana could affect your heart, as sales spike during the pandemic. And royal rumble. Harry and meghan on a mission to take down toxic social media, calling out a crisis of hate, a crisis of health and a crisis of truth. The princes scathing attack this morning. And good morning, america. We hope you all are doing well this friday morning. Its a busy one. So lets get right to the latest on the coronavirus emergency. Overnight, the number of confirmed cases worldwide surpassed 19 million. In the United States there have been more than 4. 8 million reported cases, the number of american lives lost to the virus has now surpassed 160,000, and new research from the university of washington is now predicting nearly 300,000 deaths by december 1st. But perhaps a sliver of good news. The covid project is saying that new cases are down by 10 and hospitalizations are down by 7 from last week. That is some good news. Dr. Birx has issued a warning for nine major cities and california Central Valley. There are now over 541,000 cases in california, more than any other state in the country. Matt gutman is there. He starts us off from burbank. Good morning, matt. Reporter good morning, george. Those numbers are staggering, and just in l. A. County alone, there are more than 200,000 cases. Thats more than three or four states in the country. Thats why the hospitals have the overflow covid units ready to go. But as you mentioned, the biggest concern in california is for the agricultural belt of the Central Valley, and, in fact, rural areas across the country where covid seems to be growing fastest. As the death toll from the coronavirus here in the u. S. Passes 160,000, concerns that the virus is spreading into rural communities. This morning, new research from the university of washington predicting the death toll in the United States could reach nearly 300,000 by december 1st. Dr. Deborah birx warning nine cities plus californias Central Valley that their increase in test positivity could be an early sign of an imminent surge in cases. California now surpassing 10,000 deaths from covid and reporting more cases than any other state in the country. Now Ohio Governor mike dewine confirming he is negative for the coronavirus. The governor first tested positive as part of a routine screening just before he was set to meet with President Trump. Everyone who sees the president is tested, so i was tested. I went from there to the airport and when i got to the airport found out shortly thereafter that i had tested positive. So that was a big a big surprise. Reporter in a statement overnight, dewine said he and his family immediately went to Wexner Medical Center in ohio to be tested again, twice. Adding that the earlier positive test was taken with new technology called an antigen test, and we dont have much experience with them in ohio but are researching how the discrepancy between the two tests could have occurred. The apparent false positive adding to the confusion about the countrys testing capabilities, as President Trump is now suggesting that a vaccine could be ready by election day. Im optimistic that it will be probably around that date. I believe well have the vaccine before the end of the year, certainly, but around that date, yes. I think so. Reporter but dr. Anthony fauci thinks likely not. Hes eyeing a target date of early 2021. You might likely get an indication that you know if it works and if its safe by the end of this calendar year. I might add that im cautiously optimistic though you can never guarantee things with the vaccine. Reporter an emotional toll not getting any easier, not just for older americans. This san antonio father is now preparing to bury his 22yearold daughter. The aspiring nurse battled covid19 for over a month. Both father and daughter had contracted the virus. That was in my mind, why am i still here and my daughters not . You might think youre invincible, you might not get it. We thought the same thing. We took care of ourselves. We took every precaution available. Reporter and an increasing number of Young Americans battling the virus, some like 29yearold shaudry were closer to death than to life. She held my hand and she said, ron, if you can hear this, squeeze my hand. I was holding her finger and i squeezed it while i was under. Nurses were telling me, wow, youre back. Youre a miracle child. Reporter well, it could take months for that miracle child to fully rehab. Now, we mentioned those vaccines. There are 140 vaccine candidates, 26 of them are in clinical trials. Now you may wonder, well, is that overkill . No, its not. For the entire global population to be vaccinated or 60 of it, multiple Companies Need to chip in because no Single Company has the capacity to vaccinate everyone. Now we talked to the experts. They say the glut of vaccines wont be ready until the end of 2021. Amy . All right, matt, and certainly not in time for the school year, and so we turn now to the battle over reopening schools safely. Intensifying in districts across the country, teachers in michigan flocked the State Capitol to protest the states reopening plans. Steve osunsami is joining us from atlanta with more on that. Good morning, steve. Reporter good morning to you, amy. At this high school behind me they have decided on Remote Learning but there are many parents for various reasons who live in this community who arent happy with that. School systems and families across the country struggling to decide what is best for their children. As School Districts across the country this morning are figuring out how to best educate children safely and in some cases are sending them back to classrooms, School Systems like the one in paulding county, georgia are struggling with their decisions. A student was suspended on wednesday for sharing these images of a packed hallway between classes at her high school from the first week of classes where most of the students werent Wearing Masks. The superintendent had to write this letter obtained by abc news trying to calm families where he underlines that masks are still encouraged and says more resources are on the way for families and teachers. I saw many people were not Wearing Masks and it was making me feel really unsafe and uncomfortable to be in school. Reporter a former teacher who worked in the School District is agreeing to talk with us, but asked for some anonymity because shes afraid people will come for her. She says bully behavior is what made her quit. I feel as an educator it is my duty to point out an instance where i do not feel like the children are being kept safe. I do not feel like my fellow teachers are being kept safe. Reporter teachers in americas streets are protesting inperson learning. One of their biggest concerns, heading back to classrooms that dont have enough space to follow safety protocols. I teach high school. I have 39 kids in a class, just not going to happen. Reporter students continue to share photos of crowded schools online. These are from inside Woodstock High School in georgia. Showing some students in masks, but little social distancing. The School System here is reporting covid19 infections in at least five different schools already. Some parents have to work and struggle with keeping their kids at home, but its also true that children who are attending these schools are getting sick. Here in georgia, a 7yearold has now died from covid19. A child with no underlying conditions, the youngest child to die from the disease in this state. Cecilia . Just awful. Steve, thank you so much. I think its clear to us that using marijuana, thinking that it might help your heart or be good for the cardiovascular system theres no evidence for that. The evidence that it can harm you is also anecdotal, but there is some. Reporter researchers also finding that edible marijuana appears to be associated with even more harmful heart and psychiatric complications because of the amount of thc absorbed into the bodys system. But cbd is different. Studies finding that the portion of the marijuana plant that doesnt produce a high has actually been associated with a reduced heart rate and lower blood pressure. This as purchases of marijuana spike. When the country went on lockdown in march, more than a dozen states deemed Cannabis Stores and dispensaries as essential businesses. In colorado, Retail Marijuana sales in may were 35 million higher than in 2019 and both oregon and washington states seeing their cannabis sales spike through the late spring and early summer as consumers spend more time at home. When i got to the airport, found out shortly thereafter that i had tested positive. So that was a big a big surprise. Reporter the apparent false positive adding to confusion about the countrys testing capabilities as President Trump is now suggesting that a vaccine could be ready by election day. Im optimistic that it will be probably around that date. Reporter but dr. Anthony fauci eyeing a target date of early 2021. You can never guarantee things with the vaccine. That may sound like overkill but experts tell us no Single Company has the capacity to produce the demand for worldwide vaccines. So multiple companies will be used. But were told that gut of vaccines wont be ready until the end of next year. Cecilia . Thank you so much. Well turn to the just released cdc study about pregnant women and alcohol. One in nine drink during their pregnancies including more than 10 who reported binge drinking during the first trimester. Dr. Jen ashton is here to break down the findings. So youre an ob gyn. The numbers sound alarming but the researchers believe the numbers could be higher than reported. Exactly, cecilia. This is a huge study just released by the cdc. They looked at almost 100,000 women. Theyre talking about in in utero exposure to alcohol and other drugs. We know that alcohol can increase the risk of fetal alcohol syndrome. Leading to miscarriage, stillborn, long term intellectual and behavioral impairments and take a look at the numbers. They found in the first trimester, 19 of women draining alcohol and 20 admitted to binge drinking. Then 4. 7 drink at all and just over 1 binge drink. There should be no Alcohol Consumption during pregnancy. And we talked about how the message has changed over the years it can be confusing for women because there are some doctors out there who say an occasional drink might be okay. What do you tell your patients . Well, first of all, were not talking here about an occasional drink. Were talking about regular consumption, and i think it comes down to this. In at stake, the mother and the fetus. When you talk about the fetus, there is zero benefit to the mother consuming any alcohol during pregnancy and theres a risk. So to be crystal clear, acog and cdc says theres no safe. Amount. There are so many things we cant control in pregnancy, but this is under our control. Really great advice. Thank you. We turn now to our gma story, Alyssa Milanos bout with coronavirus. She thought she was dying while suffering for months with covid19 symptoms. Erielle reshef has the latest on her health battle. Good morning, erielle. Reporter good morning. One doctor said covid19 can be like a storm in the body. It eventually passes through, the effects can linger and now Alyssa Milano reveals her struggle with the disease. One she says has lasted for months. Actress Alyssa Milano opening up about her ongoing battle with the prolonged effects of covid19. Writing on social media, this is me on april 2nd after being sick for two weeks. I had never been this kind of sick. Everything hurt. She goes on to describe her initial symptoms. Loss of smell. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. I couldnt breathe. I couldnt keep food in me. I lost nine pounds in two weeks. Were also seeing some unique features, what i like to refer to as dysautonomia, a heart rate that can just be very rapid and patients can be very short of breath. Reporter milano said she got tested twice for the virus. Both times the results were negative and her finger print test for antibodies, also negative. She writes after living the last four months with lingering symptoms like vertigo, stomach abnormalities, shortness of breath, general malaise, she got a full blood draw. This time testing positive for antibodies. The star one of potentially hundreds of thousands of socalled long haulers. Like this 46yearold singer who says shes suffering longterm side effects of the disease. Of course youre afraid, its been happening for four months that they could be permanent because i never experienced some of the symptoms before. Reporter in a recent survey by the cdc of nonhospitalized symptomatic adults, 35 reported they were not back to their usual state of health by two to three weeks of testing positive. The cdc saying covid19 can result in prolonged illness, even among persons with milder, outpatient illness including young adults with no or few chronic underlying medical conditions. At least about a third of my patients that i have been seeing who have recovered from covid19 do have residual symptoms and so far in most of them they have lasted months, but most patients recover completely. Reporter milano also said in her post, i want you to know this virus is not a hoax. She says she will be donating plasma as soon as she can and doctors say theres no explanation for why some patients develop postcovid syndrome or long haul syndrome. But they say if you have had covid and youre still experiencing symptoms weeks later, consult your physician. Cecilia . Okay, erielle. Thank you so much. Well turn now to a woman who managed to pay off more than 100,000 in debt in four years. Rebecca jarvis is back with how she managed to pull it off and how her strategies can work for all of us. Good morning, rebecca. Reporter hey, cecilia. Thats right. This is a very inspiring story, especially considering that the average american right now is carrying about 90,000 in debt. That is credit cards, Student Loans and your mortgage. So how did one woman pay it all down and reclaim her freedom . Heres how. Amanda williams learned how to get out of debt the hard way. We had a little over 133,000 worth of debt and it took us a little over three years and four months to pay it off. Reporter she switched careers, studying to become a Cyber Security engineer, buying an expensive new car. The bills started racking up. I felt overwhelmed looking at the numbers, there was no way id be able to afford my car payment and my student loan payments with the salary that i had. Reporter panicked, she found the dave ramsey website following their advice to take baby steps, paying off the lowest debts first and then working her way up. For amanda, that meant selling off her expensive car. But as i got further along in the journey, the mindset really happens. Like, what do i really want . Do i want this nice car or do i want to sell it, drive an older car and get out of debt faster . Ultimately, thats what i ended up choosing. Reporter financial expert rachel cruz weighs in. She says a budget is key. This is really key, not only are you able to control your spending but youll be able to say, okay, where am i spending that i can can actually cut out and put toward my debt . Reporter and what about the career goals . Amandas found a way to save on the rest of her education too. I was fortunate enough to get my foot in the door to where my Company Provided education reimbursement for some of my bachelors and the rest of my masters degree. Reporter amanda also reached out online for support. Reach out and find people who are going through the same thing, and i found a great Little Community that kept me motivated through my journey. Reporter now she has a side hustle with her own debt advice blog, debt free in sunny ca. She and her husband are saving for their new babys education. Just put your mind it to. Set a budget. Work your goals and do anything you can to reach it. Reporter put your mind to it. Again, the key to amandas success was paying off those debts starting with the smallest ones first and continuing to make the minimum payments on the remaining debts. Once you finish paying off the small debt, then work on to the next one and the next one. Cecilia, the thing about this it gives you a psychological win each time you erase one of those debts from your history. Yeah, it did us. Youre saying baby steps. You have a few tips for viewers who might be trying to do this on their own. Reporter yeah. Right now clearly it is a very difficult time for millions of american families, especially with so many facing unemployment. The number one thing you might need to be doing right now is not taking on more debt, unemployment, and the number one thing you might be needing to do right now is just be not taking on new debts and thats important especially if you think about using that credit card. At a time like this, it is high interest. You dont want to use that if you can help it. In addition, if you are focused on paying down debts, there are resources for you out there. Theres an Organization Called the nfcc. You can reach that at nfcc. Org. Theyre a nonprofit that will help you think about Debt Management strategies. And finally, cecilia, let your loved ones know that this is your path. You are seeking to pay down debt. Its so much better when you have other people on your team in this journey fighting for you to make sure you pay down those debts. Cecilia . This is why i call rebecca my life coach. Thank you, my friend. Good tips there. For more tips on how she paid off the debt, go to our website and check out our debt diary series. George . Okay, we turn to the coronavirus, and five former heads of the cdc discussing what could have been done differently to control the virus. Linsey davis moderated the panel. She joins us now. Good morning, linsey. Reporter good morning, george. In our increasingly divided country where we have more covid deaths here than anywhere else in the world, we were able to get these five top scientists to agree on one thing unanimously. I asked the question, what do you think is the single biggest factor thats led us to this moment . They said hands down the problem is leadership. It was a stunning headline. Just last month four former heads of the cdc argued in a Washington Post oped that science has been overtaken by the Public Health response. The headline we ran the cdc. No president ever politicized its science the way trump has with the subtitle, the administration is undermining Public Health. How unprecedented is it to have the president of the United States regularly pushing back on the science and his own medical experts, and also how dangerous is it . I cant think of any precedent for this. The way an Emergency Response should work is theres an organized decisionmaking process. Once that decision is made, everybody gets on board it and defends it and implements it. Its absolutely detrimental to the efforts that are under way. This is not rocket science. We need to apply what we know. We need to feed truth back to the American Public and to use those truths with our Scientific Evidence to control this disease. Reporter the group agrees a vaccine will be critical to fighting the virus, but acknowledges we still have a long way to go. Given there are more than 660 products in evolution for covid right now, we should be cautiously optimistic. This pandemic is not something thats going to end abruptly. So a vaccine is by all means the single most important thing we could have to fight covid. At the same time were still going to be dealing with covid for a long time. So its only one part of our response. Reporter overall the consensus of the group was that the cdc needs a microphone and not a muzzle. Dr. Frieden equated not having the cdc front and center to trying to fight with one arm tied behind your back. He said we would be safer, more informed, healthier if we were hearing from the experts of the cdc and listening to them. George . Lead with the science. Okay, linsey. Thanks very much. Now lets go to ginger. Reporter yes, and we have a gma moment sponsored by verizon. This one i think is just all of us on a friday, destressing for the weekend. [ laughter ] theres Nothing Better than that sound. Charlie, 20 months old. You know what, its the simple things. Theyre from belmont, north carolina. Kelsey, mom, taking the video. This morning we are meeting a new york city couple who decided to take their health into their own hands using some simple, daily changes for some amazing results. Take a look. It shouldnt take a Global Pandemic to prioritize your health but for me, it was a wakeup call. Watching the news and seeing that asthma was high risk and seeing that obesity was high risk, that was me. Reporter in march, 30yearold Romelle Morris committed to making a life saving change. I think the biggest change mentally is believing that you can lose weight. Reporter romelle and his partner darren worked to create a healthier lifestyle together. How did they do it . Through what they call a holistic approach, focusing on diet, exercise and mental health. It was small little goals. Small changes in eating and then layering on exercise. It was one change after another, day after day. Reporter the couple losing over 80 pounds combined in just five months and theyre joining us now for their big reveal. So we have seen the daily changes darrin and romelle have made in their lives. Now its time for the big reveal. This is them before. Now after five months of hard work, take a look at darrin and romelles amazing 80pound loss transformation. Wow. That is absolutely incredible. Were so happy to have them live with us now. Congratulations to both of you. You look amazing. I love that you did this together. Every step of the way, but what initially motivated you to start it . Yeah, we were sheltering in place at home, cooking all of our meals anyway and we just had the conversation what if we tried to cook a little healthier and lose a few pounds in quarantine . We both wanted to lose weight for a long time. I have been fat my entire life so it was never a better time to prioritize our health. We bought an under desk treadmill so we could stretch our legs in our tiny new york apartment and we started to count the calories to understand how much we were cooking and eating with the goal of losing four pounds in a month. The benefit of doing it as a couple we kept each other accountable when we felt stuck. I love that. You can really motivate each other. Romelle, what is the best piece of advice that you would give to someone looking to jump start their own fitness journey . Two big things. One is do whats right for you. We like to play video games and explore new york. So our exercise is not training for a marathon. Its finding new neighborhoods to explore and walking on a treadmill and playing video games. The second piece is dont forget your mental health. If you lose five, ten pounds, or you hit a new milestone, treat yourself. Maybe not to a cake. Maybe a new bag. Reward yourself for staying committed. You said you have made these changes using simple swaps. Tell me about that. Absolutely. We both love to eat and the idea of a fad diet or a crash diet wasnt going to work for us. So we wanted to keep eating meat, but just on the side. Like instead of eating french fries and mac and cheese, think of roasted vegetables and fruit. With a lot of experimenting and new recipes, we were able to find foods that we love. Well, you guys look great, you feel great, sound great. So whats next . So i think for both of us, we get haters are always saying, are you going to keep the weight off or is this just short term . We couldnt be more happy to keep it i mean, we remain committed. Well keep the active lifestyle. You might see us skiing or taking a hiking trip or fitness classes. Were going to keep it up. I love that. Youre inspiring everyone out there who is watching. Congratulations to you two. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Thank you. Thank you. Vogue said, its the digital Fashion Event of the summer upstaging official fashion weeks by aligning garments with history, celebrity, purpose and unparalleled beauty. Reporter queen beys hair central to the looks. From the 30 foot long box braids, bantu knocks and the senegalese twist. I did my research on the pieces like the bantu knots, you know . The hat that was crocheted to create a crown. Reporter the styles spear headed by longtime beyonce hairstylist neal farinah who says these pieces are more than just about hair. You know, african women, their expression was about hair. So every piece meant something to them. It was about respect and dignity. All right. Joining us now is one of the Creative Minds behind the incredible looks in black is king zerina akers. She has been beyonces wardrobe curator for the past six years, and shes here to tell us about the fashion from the film and she is going to share some of her style expertise with us. Thank you for being with us, and first of all, congratulations on just this amazing, beautiful piece of art that we are all still gushing about. So we are so glad youre here to talk to us about it this morning. Walk us through your process a little bit and how you styled beyonce and how you want this wasnt just about clothes but sending a message at the same time. Of course. You know, going into this, or going into any project really with beyonce, i tried to sit down with her, you know, and get her thoughts and how like whats going on in her head, you know . How she sees things. And then, you know, i talked to, you know, our creative director, and we put it all together, but one of our early conversations, i remember her really wanting her to pay homage to the art of water collecting and, you know, its still a very real daily practice for a lot of people. And her wanting to do that and creating it into the very artistic image, we you know, one of the earlier ideas was to create sort of the look. In the end what it turned out to be was this very beautiful fuchsia dress she is wearing with the river with her dancers and each look, ombre is lighter and lighter. So the dress is very languid and mimics the shape of the water and the river. Yeah, i know. Its actually stunning. You have a look right behind you that inspired you. What was the inspiration behind that book . Yeah, mood for eva, one of the inspirations was coming to america and you sort of hear this subtle music in the background from coming to america. I wanted to take these analogies that people are afraid to use and that speaks to and throughout many tribes sort of the hierarchy in their society. You know, some of the more things that you wear, you know, the higher your rank. We used just animal printed things, you know, so i wanted to take these prints that people are usually afraid of and make them feel regal and rich and kind of inspire people, you know, to be a little bit more adventurous in their wardrobe. You certainly pulled that off. Amy and i are told that there are people out there who feel animal print might be too much for a wardrobe. Not us, thats for sure. How do you suggest bringing this to everyday life if somebody might have a little bit of, i dont know, trepidation about wearing an animal print . You know, there are subtle ways you can do it. If you work in the more corporate environment its something i have examples here. Something like just incorporating a bag, you know . Or a pair of shoes. These are the shoes that beyonce wore in the film actually with this look. You know, so even like if you have lets say a zebra printed blouse or a leopard printed blouse, one way you can go that is just wear it with the simple, you know, pair of black pants. You know, i think theres subtle ways and kind of ways you can do it, but if youre really daring you can mix it up. You know, so i think you you can really layer on the prints and play with some combos. I love that. Wow. We could talk to you all day. Thank you so much. We are looking forward to working more animal print into our own wardrobes. Thanks a lot. Coming up, a love story you dont want to miss. How this couple met on tiktok during the pandemic. Previously on tiktok love story. Josiah took a road trip and stopped in cool places along the way. Reporter couple who had never met in person before the road trip traveled coast to coast. We drove through vegas, and tried to go to the haoover dam, but it was closed. Reporter including the grand canyon. We got up at 4 00 a. M. To see the sunrise at the grand canyon. Asked me to be the girlfriend. We had our first kiss. He actually i knew he was joking, but he got down on one knee and seemed like he was going to propose. Yeah. Reporter no proposal just yet. But they have grown close in the past three months with no plans of slowing down. So many exciting things happening. Well continue to document our relationship. Im really excited where its going. I was over the game thing and i wanted to find my person. Reporter their only question now, how to keep the new relationship spark alive while dating in quarantine. Now they are here with us and millionaire match maker Patti Stanger are joining us live. How is it going . Its first time i ever dated in quarantine and were coming up with creative ways to go on dates. And get to know each other. The first time you dated in quarantine . Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like everybody, you know . Yeah, its crazy times but were coming up with ways to go on dates and get to know each other and everything it gets better every day. Its awesome. Well, thats a great. Thats why Patti Stanger is here, to see if you have any questions on how to keep that going. You know, start keep up with the progress youve made in first few months. Any questions . Yeah, i would say that. I mean, its felt like a fairy tale and i want to keep the spark going so if you have any tips on how to do that. Sure. First of all, tiktok is the new dating app thanks to you. They should pay you for that. Really. Congratulations. This is unprecedented in quarantine to actually find love so im impressed by this story but lets keep it going. Okay, so pacing yourself is key. You must have patience in a pandemic. You guys live what four hours away from each other, so every two weeks you have to see each other thats first of all. And you know you have to up the romance game but simplicity is really key. Because theres a lot you cant do. You cant go to the restaurant or go to the bar and you cant impress other than a picnic in the park or going to the beach. Thats where josiah is going to come in with the romance gene and woo you, right . I love it. Thank you. Yes. I love coming up with ways to surprise her. Ill keep doing that. Hes good at that. Seems like they have the magic going right there, but what are the signs to look for at this stage of the relationship on whether its going right or wrong . Well, you want to know that the person is invested. Calling you when they say theyre going to call you. Facetime you when they say theyre facetime you. Being consistent with checkins, as well as meeting a person with, you know, a mask cloth and hopefully a test if youre going to intimacy, but if theyre not interested, theyre going to ghost. Its a ghost era. So what do you have planned next . Taking it day by day. Were still going on the adventures, yeah, well keep taking it step by step. But i like where its going. So fun. I mean, its been an incredible experience. Yeah. It doesnt seem like they could be doing any better right now. Say that again. It doesnt seem like they could be doing any better right now. I see a ring in the future. Ive just got this feeling. Put it out there. Parents, going on the boat. Whats next but a ring, you know . Did you hear that . Ill give you my connections to tiffanys. Seriously you need to go slow, but youre going fast from here. I can see them blushing from here. I wouldnt hate it. He said he wasnt into games anymore. Thats key. When youre dating you need to look for a guy like josiah who said, im done. I want one and done like george and ali, my favorite couple. Thank you. Coming up on 19 years. Thank you guys. Patti will be back tomorrow for gma on saturday to answer your questions about dating. Lets go to ginger. One and done, i like it. Thank you, george. Lets talk about something nice in the weather world. After isaias we had some beautiful days. New hampshire, white mountains, gorgeous photos, taken by our own meteorologist max palumbo. Thank you for sharing those. Why not give you the beach forecast because if you dont get the time, and you dont have power, and you want to do some beaching, water temperatures are up. Once we get rid of the scattered showers and storms, by tomorrow time now for our favorite friday segment. Isnt it . Its the pet of the week. Take a look at our wall of winners so far, and this morning we are meeting another awesome pup, and this dog will definitely youll get it when i say it, push your buttons. Okay. But in the very best way. Shes super smart. Plus, she puts a smile on the face of her Health Care Worker mom. Meet polly. A 10monthold cockapoo, who lets her owners know whats on her mind. Whats your name . Polly. Yes. That is your name. Reporter nicole who is an autism support worker wanted to channel the skills she learned interacting with nonverbal children and try them on polly, using electronic buttons with icon stickers she created signaling commands like treat, walk and play. Well, with my background, i had to come up with something, because shes 4 months old when we started. We introduced the first two buttons. Reporter in june the couple started a tiktok account to feature pollys canine communication abilities and it was a hit. Shes amassed over 250,000 followers and nearly 4 million likes. We feel a lot of other pet owners could have the same kind of success or better. So she knows how to get what she wants in other ways now. But shell use it as almost bribery. I love you and make eye contact with i love you too. Shell ring the treat. Yeah. Okay. I love you too, ill get you treat. As mentioned nicole is a Health Care Worker and she could not join us with polly. We sent the family a pet of the week medal so they can all wear it.
