Officially, the cause is still under investigation. After two weeks, firefighters have full containment, but that doesnt mean the fire is out. It means firefighters have it surrounded. The fire burned just under 78,000 acres and 374 buildings were lost, including 174 homes. Another 60 buildings were damaged. Now tomorrow marks the First Anniversary of the worst fire in california history, the camp fire in butte county. It is the states deadliest and most destructive wildfire on record. The camp fire burned down nearly 19,000 buildings and claimed 85 lives. It wiped out most of the town of paradise, but the mayor is optimistic. We see ourselves as pioneers. That suit was filed after city supervisors passed a resolution in september calling the gun rights lobby a domestic terrorist organization. City attorney Dennis Herera released a statement saying this was a baseless attempt to silence San Franciscos valid criticisms of the nra and distract from the gun violence epidemic facing our country. Jury deliberations will resume on tuesday. Stanford University Students are on high alert after multiple cases of potential or confirmed drugs were reported to the university over the past month. Students have been alerted to four reports of potential or confirmed drugs at multiple residences or gatherings on campus over the past month alone there. Are also many that dont get reported. So the fact that we have had so many reports since the quarter has started means that there is a real epidemic of drugging that happen on campus. In one case involving an unknown location on mayfield avenue, a test came b the date ghb, according to the reporting party. Its frankly terrifying. Since learning of the alleged incidents, stanford has sent a letter to the Campus Community about steps they can take to protect themselves against drugging and what to do if they suspect they have been drugged. But some, including stanford law professor michelle dabber say the University Needs to do more. They should be treated like a pants on fire emergency. And i think the first thing they should be doing is running into those dormitories to talk to students and let them know about the drugs and talk about it face the face. The University Says at this point its department of Public Safety does not have evidence to verify the reports of drugging, but added we take every report seriously and encourage students to continue to report them. Yg claims it happened in june of last year when 27yearold antonio perez, shown here in a video taken that night and two other wells fargo managers went out for drinks after work. We serve the homeless, the some of the work class people. What they make just dont meet all the needs. I dont have any food. They take so long to give me my check every third wednesday. This year with the holidays quickly approaching, something unexpected is throwing a wrench in their plans. We dont have enough transportation to go pick up everything. Their large box van, already old and broken into countless times suddenly died. Their other two minivans are on their last legs. Its a 1998 ford. Well, now a new state law tries to give relief to the grocers and their customers, but Officials Say its just a bandaid. I was told that i could bring back my bottles to your store, and you would give me my redemption value. You may recall barbara of pacifica trying to find a store that would refund her bottle deposits. If i brought my bottles back, then you could not give me my money back . No stores would take them. She said try 7eleven. Barbara used to take her empties to a local replanet recycling center before all 284 locations shut down this summer. It not only affected consumers, it also put hundreds more grocers on the hook to start redeeming your empties. Thats because state law requires stores that sell benches to step up if there is no recycling center nearby. I dont think the law anticipated a situation where it was the recycling centers that closed. Aaron marino of the California Grocers Association said most of the stores were caught off guard. Obviously, there is some rampup that needs to happen on their end to figure out how its going to work, where theyre going to take in the recycling. Do we need more workers to come in and sort the recycling. Youre taking this garbage inside of a store. Its not safe. And customers dont want it. The replanet led to long lines at the few remaining recycling centers in the state. And stoked fears they might be next to shut down. I have a refund coming, but if i cant take it any place to do this, i wont get my money back. Recyclers say their costs are too high and the revenue too low. State legislators said the decades old bottle law isnt working anymore, and they will update it come january. For now, they approved temporary relief. For one, they allocated 5 million to help the remaining recycling centers to stay open. Also, grocers near the shutters replanet centers are off the hook for redeeming bottles and cans. However, that reproef ends in march when they must be ready to accept your empties. Now legislators also allocated money to test a mobile recycling program. Compare the latest drought map just released today to our Drought Conditions from just a year ago. Last year the entire state qualified for some level of drought. This year it affects less than 20 .
