It is a 30foot long, eight foot tall barreling wave and it will be made from a Steel Foundation and then it will be covered in 20,000 golf balls collected in the ocean by a local high school student. The general issue of plastic in our hands is very significant for our planets health. It is something that our planet is facing around the world. It is not a local issue. Has the global problem. This issue of plastic pollution wont go away until everyone comes together and starts to work toward it. Were lucky to live in the monterey bay marine sanctuary. A really well managed and beautiful piece of ocean that is spectacular. So part of my role as an artist is to communicate why we need to protect that important habitat. My goal sow build a better bay area is to educate the population we have about the beauty of our ocean and the need to protect it. In the bay area, we have a responsibility because we have one of best managed pieces of ocean in the world. We need to show people what conservation looks like.
