Were told a thirdparty construction crew hit a gas line this morning, forcing officials to evacuate a oneblock area. Pg e is on the scene. Well monitor this and bring it to you. For now, authorities are urging you to please stay out of that area. New information on the Florida High School shooting. The fbi now says it got a tip warning them the suspected shooter might attack. And the agency didnt follow through. Abc News ReporterStephanie Ramos is in parkland. Reporter the fbi is now admitting it made a huge mistake by not following up on a second tip they received last month about the suspected gunman who is accused of brutally shooting more than 30 people, killing 17 of them at a south Florida High School. In a statement, the fbi says a person close to nikolas cruz contacted the fbis tipline with specific concerns about his gun ownership, erratic behavior and his desire to kill people. This as a shattered community is clinging to whatever strength they can. As they mourn those lives lost. This fathers two kids were inside the high school when the shooting happened. His son made it out safe but his 14yearold daughter did not. Jamie was such a special kid. All the kids here are. Reporter this parent also in anguish over the loss of his child. No person should have to suffer this. No person should have to lose their son or their daughter or their spouse. Reporter this as Police Release more details leading up to the horrific shooting. Police say 19yearold suspect nikolas cruz took an uber to his former school, walking into the Building Armed with a legally purchased ar15 rifle, concealed inside a black case. Police say cruz started shooting into classrooms going floor by floor then walking out of the building, trying to blepd in with students. He was caught an hour later but his capture not easing the grief of those who have lost a loved one. Parents, love your kids, hold your kids, kiss your kids. And dont ever, ever miss the chance to tell them how much you love them. I love all of you. Reporter the funerals for two of the victims, both students, will be held today. Stephanie ramos, abc news, parkland, florida. And here are just some of the photos of those who we lost in the shooting. They range in age from 14 to 49 years old. These are students and teachers and coaches, some of whom protected their students by putting their own lives in danger. Todays training is taking place at cole elementary school. About 100 teachers have gone through this training. More will complete the course today. They held a candlelight vigil for the shooting victims last night. Abc7 news was in mill valley where Community Members and students at take action. A Wild Police Chase this morning in the north bay ends with a driver ejected out of his car. He ended up crashing into more than half a dozen vehicles in the process. Amy hollyfield has that story from santa rosa. Reporter these pictures show the aftermath of a fiery crash into seven parked cars on west steel street in san sta rosa. Witnesses describe a sound like a bomb and a huge fire. I heard a huge smash. Instantly looked up and right over here, a car was a huge fireball, instantaneous. Reporter police say the Dodge Charger that crashed here was stolen and that owners interrupted the theft and chased the driver with speeds reaching up to 100 miles per hour. Witnesses say it sounds like the owners maybe tried to confront the driver. I heard angry voices. Reporter the car was stolen from riana street and its not the first time thieves have targeted this street. On the 1st of january, somebody tried to break into my hummer in my driveway around 3 20 in the morning. Reporter Wayne Bernard is a chp officer and he was able to hold the man until police could arrest him. He says he would advise others not to chase the thief. Leave it to the pros. Ive seen fatalities out of vehicle pursuits before and its not worth it. Reporter the driver of the stolen car in this case was ejected from the car and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He is expected to survive. No one else was hurt. In santa rosa, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. Walnut creek police are looking for a man who exposed himself on a bus. This happened february 6th on the walnut creek free trolley around 1 00 p. M. Walnut creek police are asking you to give them a call if you know who that suspect is. The fate of dreamers is murkier than ever after the senate failed to advance four proposals on immigration reform. Republicans and democrats blamed each other for the failures. President trump blamed Senate Democrats for the failure of all four bills tabckling the daca issue. Democrats complained about a veto that led to its failure. I thought our friends across the aisle would jump at this opportunity to fulfill what they say is their top priority. But they just couldnt take yes for an answer. The president wants funding for a wall on the southern border. It will cost billions to fulfill that campaign promise. State lawmakers want to protect renters against eviction. One bill would extend the period of time that tenants have to respond to eviction lawsuits so they can present a legitimate defense. Another would extend just cause eviction laws, like the one already in place in oakland to the rest of the state. It would require landlords to provide a specific and valid reason before an eviction can take place. You know how many people can afford to buy a median price home in San Francisco . You want to get a big reaction from people today. Show them the California Association of realtors new report on the minimum Household Income needed to buy a median priced home in the bay area. The California Association of realtors reports a household in San Francisco needs to make a minimum income of just more than 303,000 a year to afford the median home price of 1. 4 million. The next was san mateo at 302,000. Followed by santa clara, more than 256,000 a year. Marin county with 252,000 a year. Its horrendous. No one has that type of money. Not everyone is a dotcomer and can make that type of money. You have to have a high earner, having an advanced degree. Thats killing the middle class and the people that work in the businesses and that make this area to great. Its terrible. Its hard to sustain a way of life with housing costs so high.
