Don Moores, Kamloops Blazers president of five years, died unexpectedly today. He was 65 years old.
The president and chief operating officer of the hockey club worked with the organization since 2016 and the Blazers family is devastated at the loss, according to a statement from the team today, June 30.
"Don was a dedicated family man and a pillar in the community being born and raised in Kamloops," the statement reads. "Don and his family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time."
Before he was president of the team, Moores played for the Kamloops Chiefs between 1974 and 1976 and went on to become assistant coach with the Blazers between 1985 and 1990.
