A prominent Palmwoods businessman has urged authorities to take action about the town's traffic woes before "someone gets killed".
Rick's Garage owner Ben Jamieson whose family is a Palmwoods institution said he had seen many draft plans over the years which included pedestrian crossings, traffic islands and speed bumps to fix the problem.
"But short of action they're useless on a piece of paper," he said.
Mr Jamieson is joining a growing chorus of local voices backing the Sunshine Coast Daily Pave the Palmwoods campaign.
The campaign aims to put the spotlight on dangerous traffic conditions in the town, particularly around the rail bridge.
