Rick s Garage owner Ben Jamieson whose family is a Palmwoods institution said he had seen many draft plans over the years which included pedestrian crossings, traffic islands and speed bumps to fix the problem. But short of action they re useless on a piece of paper, he said. Mr Jamieson is joining a growing chorus of local voices backing the Sunshine Coast Daily Pave the Palmwoods campaign. The campaign aims to put the spotlight on dangerous traffic conditions in the town, particularly around the rail bridge. ....

Owner Ben Jamieson has purchased the shop beside the diner with plans to develop the site into a commercial bakery. The shop will produce buns for his diner s burgers as well as offering tasty treats for the public. Mr Jamieson is hoping the bakery will be up and running by June. And then, ideally, we would start moving (to the other side) a little bit more just to open up … parking for this operation, just because we are so hamstrung for parking in town here. We re hoping to get about 55 car parks in there which would be fantastic for us but also for Palmwoods. ....
