It Happened in Crawford County: Chief Schwemley takes the helm
Mary Fox
Bucyrus Fire Chief Chad Schwemley is a son of Dave and Cathy Schwemley and Kelly and Joyce Dillon. His brothers are Troy Schwemley and Kade and Clint Dillon. Chad's parents divorced and married again and he considers both to be his parents.
Chad attended school in all of Wynford’s schools except Lykens. He also went to Bucyrus schools where his 4th grade teacher Tammy Robinson would take the class to visit the fire station. Her husband Paul was a fireman there. Chad’s mom worked for the Telegraph-Forum, and she would also take him to the station. This was the beginning of his interest in firefighting and the trucks. After moving, Chad graduated from River Valley High School in 1990.
