ISP: Third Trooper Hit By Car In Three Weeks
HAMMOND, Ind. — For the third time in three weeks, another Indiana State Trooper has been hit by a car.
State Police say it happened around 4 Sunday morning along Interstate-80. State Trooper Jarah Burgin responded to a crash, and blocked off several lanes with dozens of flares, and had the help of other squad cars. But it wasn’t enough.
Jennifer Spikes of Gary drove her car through the flares and past other squad cars, hitting Burgin’s squad car and Burgin himself. The impact sent him crashing into the windshield of Spikes’ car.
