Is traffic becoming too dangerous on Ocala's Maricamp Road?

Tim Skudrovec has driven Maricamp Road for more than 30 years. These days, he's a frequent visitor at Taqueria Lupe, a Mexican food truck that parks in a vacant lot in the 7100 block of Southeast Maricamp in Silver Springs Shores.
He said traffic along the four-lane roadway is usually congested, especially around 5 p.m.
“Traffic is backed up from Baseline Road to Silver Springs Shores,” said Skudrovec, a former Shores resident who now lives in Citrus County.
He worries about road safety. So does Carolyn Mason. Six or so times a week, she drives Maricamp while dropping off and picking up her grandchildren from school.
