JACKSON TWP. A Canton man was hospitalized after an Interstate 77 crash during which he was thrown from his car as it overturned several times Tuesday afternoon.
The 4:36 p.m. crash on the interstate south of Shuffel Street NW left authorities closing two of the three northbound lanes for hours.
The 25-year-old was driving north at a high rate of speed when he came up on traffic and lost control of his vehicle, said Lt. Leo Shirkey of the Ohio Highway Patrol's Canton post.
The vehicle went off the left side, striking a guardrail, came back up onto the road and overturned several times, Shirkey said. As the car rolled, the young man was thrown onto the road.
