Dr. Veronica McKinney was working at a clinic in west Saskatoon when a man in his 40s entered asking for pain medication. He seemed brusque, uninterested in talking, and McKinney sensed something was wrong. She asked to examine the man to find the source of his pain. As she began, he started weeping.
