How Disney tried to turn the Queen Mary into a Haunted Mansion at sea

If you visit the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California, you’ll likely be struck by two things right away: that the cruise ship-turned-hotel has an old world glamour unlike anything else, and that it feels very, very haunted.
What you might not realize is that the ship’s haunted history inspired Disney to attempt to create a kind of Haunted Mansion at Sea — and the project’s failure, paranormal experts say, has contributed to ghost-like activity people report experiencing on the Queen Mary to this day.
