Holland mayor announces run for second term
HOLLAND — Holland Mayor Nathan Bocks announced Wednesday he will seek another term in office.
Bocks, a real estate and estate planning attorney who runs his own law firm, Central Park Law, was elected Holland's mayor in November 2019, defeating two-term mayor Nancy DeBoer.
"I love serving the people of Holland," Bocks said. "This has been an obviously unusual first elected term with COVID-19, but even with all of the limitations of COVID, we've been able to do a whole lot of things for the community."
Bocks pointed to the city council's 8-1 passage of a non-discrimination ordinance including gender identity and sexual orientation, progress toward meeting the need for more housing options in the city and finalization of the Waterfront Holland vision as a few accomplishments in the last year and a half.
