New personal bests set at Cub Relays
The Wheaton track and field teams picked up a handful of medals at the Monett and Mt. Vernon meets last week, setting some personal bests along the way.
We had a slow start this week at Monett, but still managed to earn a few medals, said Larry Meyer, Wheaton track coach.
The 4x100 relay team of Chad Meyer, Zane Johnson, Michael Hang and Fernando Gonzalez ran their best time so far at 48.6 seconds and took sixth place in Monett. Johnson achieved a personal and school record in the 400-meter at 57.64 seconds, and Zander Dutra set a personal record in the 110-meter hurdles at 20.33 seconds.
