With fresh snow on the slopes and blue skies overhead, not even a pandemic has been able to keep people from Tahoe’s famed ski resorts. During a recent weekend, the lift line for the famous KT-22 at Squaw Valley was so long one longtime season-ticket holder was heard quipping that it extended all the way to Truckee.
He was exaggerating, of course, but there was some truth to his words. Reports of long lift lines have been a part of the 2021 Tahoe narrative that also includes social distance protocols and limited ticketing. And while there are reports of weekdays being busier than normal and even busier than weekends, this longer Presidents Day holiday weekend is expected to be the busiest of the year. The line for KT-22 might be all the way to Reno.
