Here's how five Teachers of the Year in Michiana approached the pandemic

As schools gradually reopened during the coronavirus pandemic, teachers this year encountered a perfect storm of remote instruction, learning loss and rapid change as community positivity rates alternately climbed and fell.
With the pandemic ushering in a new era of social distancing and virtual education, The Tribune asked this year’s recently named Teachers of the Year about their biggest challenges and how they worked to meet students’ needs in a school year like no other.
