Summer isnât over yet, but candidates in Franklinâs fall municipal election have already started campaigning.â¯Â
This October will be the first city election with significant turnover on the board since 2007; three of the four sitting ward aldermen up for election wonât run for another term â Scott Speedy, Dana McLendon and Margaret Martin â nor will interim Alderman At-Large John Schroer. Â
Schroer, a former Franklin mayor, was appointed to serve as alderman in the winter of 2020 after the death of Pearl Bransford, who served in that role for 13 years.Â
