The University of Iowa Athletics Department announced on Wednesday that it's ending the Hawkeye Express train experience.
KCRG reported that the decision was made because of the potential continuation of social distancing measures, the need of upgrades to equipment and the increase in operating costs.
“The Hawkeye Express has been a wonderful part of our Hawkeye football gameday experience,” Senior Associate Athletics Director, Matt Henderson, said in a news release. “While it was a difficult decision to make, we all agree it is the right decision. This experience would not have occurred without the Sabin family and their Iowa Northern Railway Company.”
