Veterans working on a Vietnam veterans memorial in Rome got a big delivery from Missouri that would complete the memorial they had been working on for years: a Huey helicopter.
“We started this dream back in 1994 when the Moving Wall came to Rome,” said Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Vice President Mark Jennings.
Restoration work has been going on for months, preparing it for display. Just seeing the helicopter brings back memories for some veterans.
“I flew these helicopters when I was in Vietnam in ‘69, probably 3,500 hours just in that helicopter alone, stateside and in other countries as well,” said Army veteran Jim Vause.

The Invercargill stars of Demolition NZ have been usurped by a bunch of Aussies.
The big American-owned broadcaster sparks concern following copycat claims by a local producer. Mark Jennings reports. Christchurch based TV producer Jeff Hampton was shopping at his local supermarket when someone he knew came up to him and said “I see your latest show is about to screen”. Hampton was puzzled. He is the producer of
Demolition NZ, a reality show that has, until last year, run on Prime/Sky, but no new episodes had been filmed. There had been discussions with TV3/Discovery about supporting a new series, after Prime decided to move away from reality shows, but nothing had eventuated. Soon, others were asking him about the new series of ‘Demolition’ being promoted on the network recently bought by Discovery.
