Hartlepool increase lead at top of NYSD after dramatic one run win

Hartlepool maintained their unbeaten record and at the same time increased their lead at the top to 37 points, with a dramatic one run win at Marske. The hosts won the toss and inserted Pools, who made 161 all out, thanks to Neil Whitworth top scoring on 32, as Sam Berry claimed 4-27, while there were two wickets each for John Mains and Adam Hickey.
The Seasiders in reply lost early wickets and were 9-2, but Adam Hickey made a useful 68 and Tom Hewison 65, as they put together an 115 run partnership for the third wicket, which swung the match back to the home side.
