"We wanted to give them foods they actually prefer," said Joyce Guan, longtime executive director of the Wollaston Senior Center. The recipes would be suggested by the city's Chinese residents active at the center at 550 Hancock St., which has 150 members who come from Quincy, Milton, Braintree, Weymouth and Randolph.
"We went around and asked them what foods they would like," Guan said. "We asked them to give us some names of dishes they had at home with their families, to tell us recipes, and they gave us a lot of suggestions. We collected data; they gave us a lot of support and are very excited."
