Gov. Murphy launches $5M ad blitz as he runs for re-election

And you’re helping foot the bill.
Murphy’s re-election campaign on Tuesday launched a nearly $5 million media blitz that includes both television and digital ads as he vies for a second term this year.
The ads will run in the New York and Philadelphia network and cable media markets through June 7 — just before New Jersey’s June 8 primary elections, even though Murphy does not have a primary challenger for the Democratic nomination.
In his first TV ad, Murphy — shown wearing a mask — says new Jersey was “tested” unlike any other state by the coronavirus pandemic but “came together.” The Democrat then rolls off some first-term accomplishments, including hiking the state’s minimum wage.
