Gov. Kristi Noem's tribal dance at South Dakota Statehouse presses on, despite protesters
Noem, who's been at odds with tribal officials over fireworks at Mount Rushmore, Keystone XL pipeline's rescision and checkpoints on tribal lands, held Thursday's event in conjunction with the State Tribal Relations Department.

PIERRE, S.D. — A ceremonial "round dance" hosted by Gov. Kristi Noem on the state capitol grounds was briefly interrupted on Thursday, May 20, by indigenous protesters, shouting criticisms of Noem's handling of the pandemic and her lawsuits against the Biden administration over fireworks at Mount Rushmore and the Keystone XL pipeline rescission.
