A UPS driver in Jacksonville proved to be a good Samaritan to a South Carolina family involved in a road incident this month on their way home from a Florida vacation.
When a rogue tire struck their car while crossing the Dames Point bridge, the Aughtry family made it to a gas station at the next exit, met with the Florida Highway Patrol and began waiting for a tow truck. Because the vehicle was making troubling sounds, they didn't think it was drivable.
When UPS driver
Charles Wilson stopped at the gas station on his way home from work, he noticed the family’s dilemma and offered help. With a little assistance cutting some debris that had attached to the tire, along with a parking lot test drive before hitting the road, the Aughtrys left in search of a hotel room for the evening.
