A UPS driver in Jacksonville proved to be a good Samaritan to a South Carolina family involved in a road incident this month on their way home from a Florida vacation. When a rogue tire struck their car while crossing the Dames Point bridge, the Aughtry family made it to a gas station at the next exit, met with the Florida Highway Patrol and began waiting for a tow truck. Because the vehicle was making troubling sounds, they didn t think it was drivable. When UPS driver Charles Wilson stopped at the gas station on his way home from work, he noticed the family’s dilemma and offered help. With a little assistance cutting some debris that had attached to the tire, along with a parking lot test drive before hitting the road, the Aughtrys left in search of a hotel room for the evening. ....
