German shares close slightly lower

FRANKFURT, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed slightly lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 13.65 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 15,555.08 points.
Automotive manufacturer BMW lost 5.16 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and reinsurance company Munich Re, which shed 2.13 percent and 1.49 percent, respectively.
Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical went up 3.45 percent, becoming the top gainer. European health care company Fresenius SE and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas advanced 2.95 percent and 1.59 percent, respectively.
German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 400.15 million euros (475.58 million U.S. dollars).
