GARDNER — The city officially kicked off phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccination plan with a clinic at the PACC for residents 75 and older on Feb. 4.
The clinic, which distributed about 450 shots, was organized by Heywood Healthcare, and several hospital staff members and volunteers were on hand to ensure the operation ran smoothly.
Heywood Healthcare President and CEO Win Brown greeted patients at the door of the PACC’s banquet hall and directed them to the sign-up desk. He said organizers hopes to begin vaccinating about a 1,000 residents per day during future clinics at the PACC every Tuesday and Thursday. But the date of the next clinic will be announced as soon as the city receives its next shipment of vaccine, Brown said.
