Debate camp must not be going well, because now they're setting expectations really low. She's never been in a presidential debate, she's been in a vicepresidential debate, but never a presidential debate. I think she's going to be more nervous. Whatever happened to ms. Say it to my face. She's been at debate camp for a week, rehearsing zingers and watching game tape. She's also been sort of entrenched in these briefing papers, going over the former president's past comment, as well as the ways he's insulted her, so she can be prepared to respond to that she's engaged in mock debates with a stand in for the former president, and had conversations with hillary clinton, and president biden, who both extensively have knowledge of debating the former president. Jesse: kamala is so nervous, she watched all of trump's debate, and memorized his insults and called hillary for help. The ghost of biden haunts her. Harris says she feels handcuffed by the debate roles biden set. They wanted to create a role, but now a play book. Turned her hotel room into a tv set. A hillary loyalist is not just playing donald trump, but inhabiting him, wearing a boxy suit and a long time. Kamala is practicing the handshake, if there even is one. Insiders say don't expect substance out of kamala tomorrow night. Her plan is to tap dance around the biden record, embrace the good tough, and dance herself from the bad. Good luck. Her campaign knows she's walking into a trap, so she's going to ignore policy, and instead focus on honing in on how to needle trump, and racquet him. They're workshopping poll tested attack lines that their media allies may go viral, and harris can turn to the camera and say for those who can't hear it, donald trump is trying to yell over me. How many of you have been in a meeting where you get talked over. Her strategy is dependent on trump losing his cool. But he only loses his cool when you call him a bad golfer or bad businessman. He's been telling advisors, i'm not going to let her do to me what she did to mike pence, kamala is a cold calculator and landed nasty shots. In 2023, she ran 2003 she ran against two men, and after they played the willy brown card, boom, harris became da. We saw her grill kavanagh in sessions and we'll never forget what she did to biden, called him a racist to his face, but she's had blow ups, she was amy laid by gabor, and lester holt left her stammering and cackling. Democrats are worried trump will make her look small. It will take almost super human focus and discipline to deal with donald trump in a debate. It's no ordinary proposition, not because donald trump is a master of explaining policy ideas and how they're going to make people better off, it's because he's a master of taking any form or format that is on television, and turning it into a show, that is all about him. Jesse: trump is playing the expectation game too. No boxes or artificial lifts will be allowed to stand on during my upcoming debate with comrade kamala harris. We had this out with michael bloomberg when he was in a debate and he was not allowed a lift, it would be a form of cheating, and the democrats cheat enough, you are who you are, it was determined. I think she's trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election. Bernie admits, kamala is a progressive, she's just lying to get elected. With friends like bernie, i don't know. Cnn says kamala's position is she doesn't want to have a position, because if she admitted what her real position was, she'd lose. Jesse: trump shouldn't call kamala's change of positions flipflop, he should call them lies. She's a secretive lady dependent on her handlers to survive. This time it will be even more liberal. A california socialist out of step with the rest of the country and if trump keeps her on defence, she wins. Mark thiessen writes be kamala hasn't been able to answer the most simple question, if you were elected what would you do on day one? how can someone run for president and not have a ready answer to that answer. She had nothing to offer but a cringe inducing word valid. The risk for trump is getting in the mud or appearing angry. He needs to present as calm, region, laid back even friendly. He should walk across the stage, give america a break, and shake his opponent's hand, and let the game could to him. If donald trump runs on the return of the american dream and ties kamala to biden, he'll walk back into the white house. His advisors are urging him to come out as happy trump, not bully trump, but like mike tyson says, everybody has a plan, until you get punched in the face. Tulsey gabor is part of the trump transition team and is here. When you dissected, kamala harris in the good old days of the democrat primary, how did you perceive her, and what about her told you that was the way to get her to go down? as you remember, jesse, she was treated with kid gloves by the mainstream propaganda media, treated with kid gloves, even by every other candidate on that debate stage. No one questioned her, challenged her, or called her out for the record as prosecutor that she claimed to be proud of. She talked every day how she would be a prosecutor president, but no one questioned her about what that record was, and how that would translate if she were president, and i pointed out the hypocrisy, i pointed out the hypocrisy how she would do one thing, and if the standard was held to herself, she did the exact opposite. We're seeing that opportunity again in this debate coming up tomorrow night for president trump to do the very same thing, what kamala harris is saying, the lies she's selling to the american people now is the exact opposite of the record she had frankly as the incumbent in this race. She's been in the whose for the last 3 and a half year, almost four year, not donald trump, and our country is in a disastrous position as a result, both on domestic and foreign policy, so she's not to be underestimated, because she is talented on a debate stage. There's no question about that. But she's going to have a tough time trying to defend this record, that quite frankly from the view of the american people is indefensible. Jesse: when you observed her on the debate stage, what was it about her that created this aura where people were afraid to go after her, and what did you notice her strengths and weaknesses were? it's a good question. I saw and experienced a lot when i ran for president, but really, between the leaders of the dnc, and the leaders of the mainstream propaganda media, the fix was in, they picked the few they wanted voters to hear from, and for the rest of us, they tried to destroy us. But one of the frustrating things about being on the debate stage that continue, the mainstream propaganda media creates this political theatre, and take very lightly the serious choice we have as voters, they created this false premise that whoever wins this debate, is therefore the candidate that deserves to be president. Being a great debater doesn't qualify a person to be president, but this is kamala's goal, jesse, why she's locked herself in her hotel room, taking extreme acting lesson, hollywood advisor, the stage, hollywood lights in the hopes that her friends abc will declare her the winner, and that may be enough to trick voters. I don't think the american people will fall for it. Jesse: the strategy was go undercover for three weeks after the convention put all the chips in one basket, and rely on the media, to manufacture a win, by a few jazzy sound bytes, and zingers, and say no more debates, and ride out early voting until november, do you think she could pull that off. I know that that's exactly what she's trying to pull off, her friends at abc and the other mainstream propaganda media, they're doing their very best to help her, we've seen that over the last several weeks, the thing is, that people in this country are struggling, and they're struggling with the cost of living, higher cost of groceries, gas, crime in their streets, millions of illegal immigrant, tens of millions crossing our borders, real issues and challenges happening today directly because of kamala harris and her record, and that's the seriousness with which they are treating this debate to actually learn the truth about kamala harris, president trump knows her record, he has a record of success that he can stand on and he's going to challenge kamala harris on exactly that, and keep reminding voters who she really is, not the actor that she will present herself to be tomorrow night. Jesse: when you're there tomorrow night, you're advising trump they're calling it policy discussions, what do you tell him, this is what gets under her skin, this is where ill go. What do you say? he's not focused on trying to get under her skin. He's focused on the issues that matter most to the american people. President trump is in great spirits, looking forward to this debate, and you can imagine it's frustrating for any of us to watch and see the lies being sold about kamala harris and how much she's getting a free pass and coming at a cost to the voter and the american people, that's who trump is focused on, on speaking to them, temperaturing them the truth about kamala harris so they can make a best informed decision about who the strong leader is we need for our country and i believe donald trump is the best hope for us to have a better future. I think what kamala has to do is first and foremost continue the process of introducing herself to the american people. In the new poll, 25% don't feel they know enough before about her. That's a challenge and an opportunity. She needs to make it an opportunity. Second, i think she has to avoid taking the bait, because there's going to be a lot of bait, and you don't want to take any of it. You want to do what she did in the dan abash interview, same old play book, or next question, or who does that, or however you want to kiss it off or pivot it.
