and mind you, will and pete, you have schumer and all these other people coming out and saying, you know, a few weeks ago a how sharp he is, and he's analyzing every issue inside of the, you know, oval office and in the, you know, all the places in the world, he's analyzing it, and he knows what we have to do and he's debating. look at that man you're seeing on the screen there. he's debating no one but himself there. pete: yeah. rachel: the only question he's asking is who am i. pete: what am i doing here? rachel: joe, where are you? pete: that split screen is the reason it was so terrible for joe, but i do believe we're underplaying the phenomenal performance -- not us, but the mediaover all. trump did a great job not taking the bait, staying disciplined, going back to policy. he didn't overplay the whole joe you don't know where you are, but he did it at the right time. when he talked about you didn't fire anybody over afghanistan or, over what's happening at the border, that landed with me a lot. to your point about security of our nation, the country. trump passed the commander in chief test clearly and and joe biden not even close. rachel: and people asking who is running the show. that's a great question. will: well, fascinating move in oklahoma where the oklahoma state the superintendent has passed new requirements to public schools teach the bible and the ten commandments. now, the argument that's been made, well, look, the bible is inseparable from the history of the united states. that's just, that's a fact. that's a historical fact. it's interwoven. christianity is interwoven into the deck la a haitian -- declaration of independence. pete: endowed by the creator? will: that's what a natural right is. that's the beginning point, and father steven hamilton was on "fox & friends" earlier. >> it's a great day here in oklahoma, a great opportunity with the bible policy because it gives us an opportunity for a renewed focus on a source document of our cultural patrimony, recognizing the bible's value from the historical and a literary perspective. i think to be clear, this is not a policy about using the bible as a religious or devotional use. rather, it's an academic study from historical and literary perspective. if. will: weeing, by the way, add had that -- we, by the way, had that conversation. we do have separation of church and state in terms of should you be teaching religion in school, but you have to teach history in schools, and religion is part of history. pete: and you can't teach western civilization without biblical understanding. it's impossible. so louisiana just put the ten commandments in every classroom. there'll be challenges to these, but there's a supreme court there i think will overturn some of the things that happened years ago in the '60s and the '800s that took player and the bible and the ten commandments out of schools. those will be challenged, and rightfully so. because for 150 years, almost 20 the 0 years, those were in our public government schools. not as an establishment of religion, but as a recognition of our foundation. and it's good to see states doing it, and i hope more do. texas should do it. tennessee should do it. other states should say this is important to us. rachel: it's interesting to see the pendulum start to swing in the other direction after so many years of ignoring, as you said, history and the foundation and the roots of so many things. i mean, i think of it in terms of assimilation. we have all these new people coming into the country. assimilation is important for unity. another point that i think this brings up is, you know, nothing happens in a vacuum, you know? something happens in a vacuum, i should say. you take these roots out, what has happened in public schools, you've injected a different religion, the religion of wokeness and gender theory and crt and all of these progressive things have become the new foundation, even religion cult of american public schools. maybe this also is part of, you know, pulling that back because, as you said, pete, so well in the books that you've written, this has been intentional. it's an agenda. pete: no doubt. and it started with the removing of god. if we're going to get back on the path, let's throw him back in there. rachel: that's right. will: all right. mcdonald's not loving it. it looks like intimidation, to me. >> that's the reason why i went there, because i actually went to ucla a week or two ago before the encampments started and had really beautiful conversations with students who wanted to learn. we actually had important conversations, and when i went this time, no one would speak, they kept saying i had to speak to a media liaison. i was very peaceful wanting to see if we could have conversations. then they blocked me with, basically, a human barricade, wouldn't let me walk on public property. the next day a jewish student was literally blocked from going to close, and then it starts getting extremely -- to class, and then it started getting extremely violent. if. pete: why does it seem to be acceptmen against jews but 40 no other group of people? it'd be a national outrage. >> and it should be for every single group of people, by the way. any group this is happening to, this should be an outrage. my grandparents are holocaust survivors, and i used to hear stories, and i would always think they were exaggerating, or i couldn't imagine that actually happening, and now it is happening. we need to take it seriously just like i feel it wasn't take as seriously as it should have been back then. but repurr per cutses need -- repercussions need to happen. president you heard what i said in the intro, anybody arrested for breaking the law, all the charges are dropped, so what lessons or repercussions have these protesters actually felt? >> i just don't understand how these charges have been dropped. again, like you said, if it was any other group of people this was happening to, this wouldn't even be a question. of course everyone would be arrested, and this would have stopped a long time ago. i don't understand because -- pete: so that that's the big why question i always a ask, why is it okay against jews? what was the government wanting to collect from you guys on that, on the boat? >> so federal law requires that we take these monitors, and they collect biological data as well as enforce fisheries regulations. you know, we take them and we comply. but what actually happened in this case is that the government wanted to expand its own program and have more monitors on our boats but did not have money from congress to pay for it, so they forced us to pay for these monitors' salaries out of pocket. like, who pays directly for the salary of a government employee? [laughter] will: yeah, and, megan, the reason your case forced a total reconsideration of how we enforce government regulation, why it brought the quote-unquote chevron regulation back before the supreme court is this wasn't something that an elected official required of you. this was outsourced ott administrative issues and in your case, doubled the amount you have to spend on monitors. >> yes. yes. and, you know, what really the problem was, was the agencies just completely overstepped their legislative bounds, but they know they have deference in the courts. pete: yes. >> so agencies continue to push the line of their legislative authority. they keep pushing it further is and further and further knowing that the cases will never get heard on the facts. our case was never heard on the facts. we never had, like, a real discussion about the facts of it because the courts just defer to the government. pete: yeah. and if that's why this is so significant, is that what's being overturned is the deference in the courts through this meaning when a business like yours brings a suit because they believe something's unlawful, effectively the system was rigged for the government in the past based on these regulations. now, what you believe will happen is a court would have heard your argument and said,, well, that's absurd, it's not in the law. it would send it back, right? >> right, right. and and really this is the just a return to the inscription above the court that that says equal justice under law. u.s. citizens finally have an equal standing before federal courts with the u.s. government. we finally have a level playing field, and that's going to change the game very substantially. rachel: can you just speak a little bit about how it directly affected this industry, what that was causing, you know, in terms of lost wages and profits for you. >> well, can you imagine having to pay out of pocket a government employee on your boat, with that employee maybe making more per day than your crew? how do you think that feels in a business, in a a small, confined space? if not great.
